The Plant Paradox - may have clues for a wide range of ills

The most extraordinary information I have read to date that makes the most sense to my logical mind.

I can't describe it well enough except if you have heard about Lectins you will want to read this book...seriously.

I have learned some jaw dropping information and I am only on page 70 out of 367 and it includes recipes.

There is some serious information in those pages, and it gets better and even more involved in each chapter. I'm beginning to feel this may be another piece of our puzzle with Gut issues. Some of the testimonials from stories are incredible.

On page 97 of this book Dr. Gundry states:

"I have startling evidence that at least seven subtle changes that have occurred in the last fifty or so years have completely, and potentially irrevocable, altered your health. We have been subjected to new patterns in food and, even more recently, new ways of processing food, and to new personal care products that mimic a whole different set of compounds. At the same time, environmental toxins and electric lights have utterly changed our environment. Thanks to these disruptors, or rouge patterns matchers, you really aren't "yourself" anymore. You've already learned about two other disruptors: whole grains and transglutaminase. As a reminder, whole grains directly introduce lectins, particularly the protein wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) into your gut. They both initiate the intestinal leakage of LPSs (little pieces of shi* his words!) into your bloodstream and incite hormone mimicry. And consuming transglutaminase sensitizes you to glutens even if you're not gluten-sensitive."

From here he goes on to talk about the 7 deadly disruptors....I feel everything Tex has researched and this Dr. is describing are very much on target to the slow and steady decline so many people seem to get caught up in and why we are seeing so much damage to our guts which in turn keep us on a continued path to disease.

I know like with everything else I have learned from this forum the diet protocol due to lectins are an individual thing for each of us, we can't avoid them all and each of us has to pick and choose our personal path with how we are going to heal while dealing with this new found information regarding lectins. I know I feel I have been little by little creeping closer to how the Dr. is describing which foods are our friends and which may be more of a foe all due to everyone's input at this forum, it is just the Dr. has put it together in a rather drilled down version of all the info at this site! To me this is kinda freaky and cool at the same time - Tex has really compiled some very important information along with many others help researching too.

This forum is on such a cutting edge of healing information and not enough people truly understand to what degree.

Hi Erica,

Thanks for pointing out that Dr Gundry and I are very much in agreement about a lot of things. It's not just lectins. In chapter one of edition II of Microscopic colitis I discuss how lectins, chitins, amylase trypsin inhibitors, and other antinutrients in almost everyone's diet today promote leaky gut. And of course, leaky gut is the first prerequisite for the development of food sensitivities.

I'm currently working on chapter three, if anyone is wondering.

Truly fascinating Tex!

The more that is in written form regarding this slowww bit by bit attack on our gut and way of life the better! I can't deny it one bit....in fact I'm quite saddened we as a human race think more more more and how fast can I get it, is the way to go.

My intuition has always dialed me back a bit wondering just how much "more" can we take with new food inventions and anything else 'new' that has the ability to keep us spiraling downward due to our DNA/Immune system not having the time to catch up.

I wish we lived longer with really great quality of life.....we truly don't get to do enough or know enough while living, some people may disagree with me, but I enjoy watching things evolve - slowly

I can't argue against that.
