Back from Job hunting

Post by annie oakley »

I have decided that If and when I get another job, I am keeping it if I have to crawl to work with a broken leg. I hate job hunting. I go and apply with a smile on my face and they say , we'll let you know. I want to say to them...LOOK! I NEED A JOB NOW! but of course they would know I had lost it :ciao: and ouldn't hire me. I am just impatient right now. I did spend the last 1 1/2 of the day at the Library before picking up the husband. Love The Library. Came home and had supper and put the laundry away. I was hoping to find a message on the phone about a job offer...... :shakehands: wasn't there, but there is always tomorrow. Love Oma :coolpenguin:

Yeah I know I can....mean while It's my utilities that I am not paying. I,m just so frustrated. I am back to being a  person. I know that this is all my fault for having the surgery at a bad time and for losing my job. I told my husband that I wish I had not done this surgery. I can't take it back, but I sure wish I could. Oma, JJ and Celia,

I hope things get better for you, I know how much I hate job hunting!!!

I also know of the horrible fear when you have no way to pay your bills.

All of you sound so capable, I always felt like I was unhireable.

Hey Oma,
I don't know but it's possible that there is a great job waiting for you that you would have been unable to do without the operation. It's certainly possible.

Love & ((((((Hugs))))))

Oma, You had surgery that you needed for your health & comfort to releive your pain so you can hardly say your situation is your fault. These things happen in life & no one is to blame for them. You must not think that way. I am sure that Mike does not blame you. Just hang in there. Something will come up. It often does just when we think that things are so bad that you can't see your way out. I know I may sound like a bit of a Pollyanna but you have to keep your spirits up & not lose hope. Image

I will jump in here and ask for a kick in the rear! Why can't I get a grip on my situation? I have been taking Xanax to help me through this. ..... did pretty well until the faculty meeting after school...boss mentioned contracts are coming in several weeks and we had one week to decide if we wanted to sign them. I held on until after the meeting, and then the tears just started coming. My friend the Spanish teacher said we should go our for coffee sometime and talk...she was using her Norwegian accent which always makes me laugh. Since we are both Norwegian, this usually has me in stitches....but the tears kept coming...all I could get out was that I was having a hard time with the stress. I don't know how to get over this...please give me advice....I will go skiing this weekend...exercise is good I know..... but every time I think about this, I get weepy and weird. I guess I will just have to ride it out....and it really doesn't help me to think things will get better...I have a feeling they won't this time.
I also got a letter from my dentist...he is retiring! I love my dentist...he makes me laugh! He wrote a note saying he would miss me and hoped to see me before he leaves  OK...enough ranting...thanks for listening>>>JJ

Jill and Oma,

I can't tell you not to be stressed, I can't tell you not to be worried, I can't tell you things are better and just around the corner. I CAN tell you you make your own choices in life. You can choose to be happy, you can choose to be sad. You can choose to look life right in the face and say "Bring it on! I can take it!" But, if it just all seems too much, and you can't take it, talk with someone, anyone, a good friend, a pastor, a relative...or US. There is nothing wrong with feeling like it's all too much, but when it gets like that don't let it overtake you.

Please take care of yourselves, you are number one.

Love

Oma & Jill,

I'm in the same mind set as Peg and agree 1000 %. YOU are WOMAN!!!!!!!!!! Let me hear you ROAR!!!!!!

We are all here to support you and cheer you on! You are strong-willed, intelligent women who are motivated, kind-hearted and talented! You have a lot to offer the workplace.

Being depressed is unfortunatly one of the emotions we all have at one time or another. Being able to realize that you are depressed is a GOOD thing. You are now able to redirect your thinking and attitude towards the next step FOWARD. You are both reaching that light at the end of the tunnel by doing the things you're doing.

Jill, you are exercising! Good job - it's extra points that you ENJOY it! You are networking with others, pursuing leads and willing to take on WHATEVER it takes to "Git er dun!".

Oma, you are putting in those applications, reading the ads, DETERMINED that you are going to get a job "even if you have to crawl to get there"! Now I call those things, MOVING FORWARD!

Being able to talk about your fears, ideas and hopes with someone is good for the soul, I say. Some would say it was theraputic but hey, so what? If it feels good............as the saying goes! Peg's support list is great! It helps to "unload" some of those feelings so the belly quits quivering. Anything to help w/the D, huh? Been there, done that!

I'm sure you already know that you have the BEST support system out there IMHO. :goteam: (Hope you got a few chuckles along the way too!) LAUGHTER - Good for the SOUL!

My Best Wishes to you both!

Hallelujah. Mars & Peg, I agree whole heartedly. It must be dreadful to be in the situation that Jill & Oma are in with no job or you job going down the drain. They are two smart ladies & I am sure there will be something on the horizon for them. You are right, they have a good sounding board in us & it always helps to get your problems off your chest.
Keep your spirits up & keep trying, Oma & Jill, you will get there in the end.

Love

Liz
