Quit ReMag, Energy Returned

Post by skp »

My computer has been down and finally, it's nice to read and be on the forum again. I'd be no where without all of you and wish I was far enough along to offer sound advice to newbies as many of you do. My heart breaks for those who are newly diagnosed and am so glad they have found this forum.

Just a few weeks ago I had posted a new topic on my chronic fatigue. Tex sent me the newsletter link on MC and fatigue and others also kindly responded.

Going back in time, I began to see the link between ReMag and my loss of energy. I was adding 600mg to my large drinking water daily. So, I quit the ReMag and within days, my energy came back. Now, I have normal energy again. For me, a tremendous relief! ReMag works great for many, but was too much for me even when I cut the dosage back to 250 mg a day.

Now I take a safe, daily vitamin with 100 mg of magnesium (malate) and then at bedtime, I take 200 mg of Doctor's Best chelated magnesium glycinate.

Phillips Colon probiotic is now helping me, which didn't in the beginning. I remain on Stage One Diet as I gradually experiment.

I had a brief flare recently, after weeks of normals and think it is attributed to fat. I had my gall bladder out years ago and the only issue, throughout the years, was too much fat. I don't really want to take cholestryamine but, won't rule it out. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

Very interesting Susan,

Perhaps your body is quite content with the Mag you provide it, and your VitD levels are at a good place too. The body lets us know when we are balanced, glad you are experiencing this level.

The BAM (bile acid malabsorption due to no gall bladder) take in my opinion is to eat more of your safe overcooked veggies, and cook with less oil, but don't omit it, and maintain adequate protein. If that doesn't help then a maintenance dose of cholestyramine made be needed regardless.

Glad to have you visiting amongst us again

Susan
glad you have some energy back and that via listening to your body you are figuring out what works best for you.

I will mention - have you seen the Magnesium Sticky post in the main message board? within that is a post/discussion about 'why magnesium makes me feel worse'. this is worth reading. For many people once they start to correct the magnesium deficiency their body sort of goes into overdrive 'catching up' on various actions, functions that had not been happening due to the magnesium deficiency.

it is common to feel worse before you feel better in regards to taking magnesium.

Thanks for the suggestions, Erica. I have started skinning my chicken to eliminate some of that fat. More veggies is a good idea.

Gabes, in a week I have a physical and will have my magnesium tested. For the time being, I feel really good.
