Question about bone broth a friend made

Post by WhirledPeas »

A friend of mine made bone broth for herself and I guess she didn't pay attention to the email I sent her asking her to make a batch that was bland. This is what she put in it and please let me know if you think it safe for me. I'm in stage one and my severe flare started May 1. I started Budesdine on Wednesday. Home bound due to very low energy and need to eat every 3 hours. I'm waiting to hear back from her if she put the entire onion in the broth which I'm assuming is the case rather than chopped up considering her recent symptoms. If you don't think it's safer right now, maybe I should take it and keep it in the freezer for a few months from now? Need advice. No D for a week (no liquid D for 2 1/2 weeks). Formed last 5 days. Before a combo of both.

She said: Chicken bones, carrots, an onion, turmeric (not spicy, it's a powerful anti inflammatory) and bay leaves. Not spicy, just delicious.

given you very sensitive at the moment and how long you have experienced symptoms with this flare, I would suggest that you freeze it and leave it for now.
the combo of the onion (big issue for majority of MC'ers when in flare) the turmeric, yes it has properties of being an anti-inflammatory but NOT for MC type inflammation and the bay leaves make it high risk to undo the progress of the past week.

glad that the D has settled down.
With that progress, sticking with the bland safe eating plan is important so your gut can heal from the few weeks of flare.

Gabes,

That's what I thought... I don't want to take the risk.
