Interesting research - another thing us MC'ers already knew

Post by Gabes-Apg »

as we have learnt via the contributions on this board, WD is not always the worst symptom of MC...
although the study relates to UC -this study from the Nertherlands supports what we have learnt

“There was absolutely no relation between grade of diarrhea at presentation and the endoscopic Mayo score or van der Heijde score of ulcerative colitis, or the presence of ulcers,” said lead investigator Marnix H. Geukes Foppen, MD, a staff physician at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, in Amsterdam, at the 2017 annual European Cancer Congress (abstract 1734). “Endoscopy seems necessary to evaluate the severity of the colitis, as it may change treatment approach,” Dr. Geukes Foppen said.
It does go on to discuss medication protocol but I found the outcome regarding the grade of diarrhea not a reliable clinical marker interesting

Interesting...it is what it is right?

We all react a bit differently to the symptoms of MC....WD included

No matter how is affects us.....it's still not my ideal way of life
