Stomach spasm
Hi all, just wondering if stomach spasms are a side effect of MC. I have had them twice in the last 6 months. The first time lasted for 1hr 20 mins and I honestly thought I was having a heart attack. I asked my partner to take me to A and E. The second time was a couple of weeks ago and it lasted 30 mins. They are extremely unpleasant.

They are a symptom of gut issues /inflammation.
prior to my MC diagnosis, it was something that happened regularly for me. (bring you to your knees type of cramping worse than contraction during birth)
having good levels of magnesium is main way to alleviate cramping issues
if you are worried about having too much magnesium orally (as it can cause D) you can get good levels of magnesium via topical application and/or epsom salt foot soaks

Stomach spasm
Hi Gabes, these are really high in my chest, not the pelvic area which I get as well. I find it hard to breath in very far. When the spasm begins to go it disappears in a few minutes and I feel fine I have a hiatus hernia which they found during a gastroscopy and I wonder if it's anything to do with that?

highly likely that it is related to the hiatia hernia or issues in that region.
increasing magnesium and Vit D intake will help (using topical magnesium in the area will also help)
also - eating smaller meals, staying upright and relaxed after meals (ie dont do anything physical for at least 30 minutes after eating) dont eat to close to hot drinks (namely coffee/tea)
there are also good diaphragm breathing type exercises that can help with the issues
you tube has lots of them

hope this helps
