Jean,
This ^ is so true. Just when you think things are going well, you get slammed with "life". As others have said above, make sure you continue to take care of yourself.

Thank you Cathy - I have come to understand that this is just the way life unfolds. We kid ourselves when we believe that somehow we are supposed to have smooth sailing. Life just doesn't work that way. There is no fair or unfair. There just is what is. Learning how to accept this often difficult reality allows us to roll with the punches or at least get back up after we are knocked over. It also allows us to better appreciate all the good stuff that comes along too. It's taken me a long time to begin to understand this.

Jean, I'm so sorry that your granddaughter and her family were hit by this cruel twist of fate. But you're mighty right about the realities of life. We don't live in Shangra-La. Everyone would like to believe that Walt Disney was right — anytime we venture out the door we may bump into Bambi (and live happily ever after). But the cruel truth is that we're just as likely to fall into a swamp full of alligators. As long as we're able to outmaneuver all those teeth we'll be OK — a little more scarred up than we were before perhaps, but OK.

All we have to do is set foot in any hospital to quickly put our own issues into perspective.

Jean-
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I understand how things can change so quickly in life, both from personal experience and working in a hospital daily. I feel blessed for every day that I have with the people I care about..

Wow Jean....

I am truly sorry this test of life has come into your family....I hope she is amongst great Drs and people who will continue to lift her and your family when they need it the most.

I've pondered your same thoughts too about it not being all about me, and how I'd take this MC over any devastating health situation such as cancer any day.

Sending healing thoughts Alice's way :pulsinghearts:

I wonder if our diet/supplement protocol could have any impact on her immune system and keeping it stronger while beating this dis-ease.

Hugs

Oh Jean! I am so sorry to hear about Alice. No child should have to fight for his or her life. It must be so difficult for you to watch this and feel helpless at times. I am sure your wisdom, insight, caring, love, and support will have a huge positive impact on Alice and the rest of the family. Please take good care of yourself during this trying time so you can stay strong for your family. I hope and pray that the treatments will be a complete success!

Love, Patricia 🤗❤️🤗

I'm so sorry to hear this. You, your granddaughter, and family will be in my prayers! This breaks my heart! You take care. That was my dear, sweet mother-in-laws name. Love her name. My children will be praying for her too!

Thank you Laine, Erica, Patricia and Martha. It's going to be a long year. It is hard just seeing my granddaughter suffer even though she is handling it so well.

Oh Jean - so very sorry to hear about your granddaughter. I also have a 15 year old granddaughter, and can't imagine what a diagnosis like that would do to her and our family.

From your posts here, it is easy to tell that you are a steadfast, disciplined, caring person, and your family is fortunate to have your support and love. Like others have said, you must also take good care of yourself. I know you have helpful tools, such as meditation and spiritual texts, which will give you strength as you go through this heart wrenching chapter in your life.

Sending loving, healing thoughts to Alice, you and your family.

Thanks Kari. It's always nice to see you here. I am grateful for the tools I have to see me through. My own journey towards healing started with my saying to myself "why not me?". It allowed me to get over the "it isn't fair" stuff and on to more important things. This same attitude is helping me now focus on what's important and not waste time on things that don't matter. You are right. It is still heart wrenching but at least I am able to frame it in a way that makes sense to me even if it doesn't take away the pain.

Jean, I am sorry to hear this. It definitely is difficult to see someone we love suffer. You, your granddaughter, and entire family will be in my prayers.

Hugs to you, Jean.
