I had labs done and was please to see my Vit D is still at a good level and my ferritin has jumped significantly.
VITAMIN D 25 HYDROXY 73 ng/mL (range 30 - 80 ng/mL)
FERRITIN 161 ng/mL (range 10 - 250 ng/mL)
My PCP told me to drop from my 4,000iu pill down to 2,000iu because my vit D is getting high. I didn't argue but I don't feel changing anything is really warranted. Am I wrong? He cautioned me against high levels of vit D. I like my new doc but at the same time I am disappointed.
I was quite surprised to see the jump in my ferritn since I discontinued my ferrous gluconate pills some time ago because they were making me sick and increasing my trips to bathroom within an hour of taking them. Previously my numbers were in the 20-30s range which no one seemed concerned about but me. What could cause the jump? Can better thyroid numbers influence that? It is the only change I can think of.
When I started the cholestyramine to see if it would help my D, I had hypo issues hit me quite hard. It seems that whenever I start a new medication it takes a while for my body to adjust. I had problems with starting LDN too and it took a while for my thyroid symptoms to level out. Although, that was my fault for not starting at a lower dose. Anyway, my PCP agreed to raise my Armour meds and as a result I've had a slight jump in my numbers getting me to the higher end of their range. I can't say I've notice a huge improvement in my fatigue but it was something I wanted to test out.
TSH 0.02 uIU/mL 0.60 - 5.40 uIU/mL
T3, FREE 3.6 pg/mL 2.4 - 4.1 pg/mL
THYROXINE,FREE 1.2 ng/dL 0.9 - 1.5 ng/dL
We agreed to keep the Armour dose at 1.25 tablets 2x/day
I'm hoping with the improvement of these labs and the break from my MC because of the doxycycline, I will notice an improvement with fatigue.

on the iron. I'm surprised that your doc agreed on the current thyroid med dosages. Those numbers are actually pretty decent.
While it's not essential, I agree with your doc that you should cut your vitamin D supplement dose (during the summer). Otherwise your blood level may continue to rise. You're already at the top end of the range recommended by the Vitamin D Council (40–80 ng/ml). A higher level might not hurt, but it probably wouldn't help either. But I would cut it to 3,000—3500 IU, not 2,000 IU. You don't need to lower it, you just don't need to raise it any higher.
Things might change again after the Lyme is completely gone and everything settles down again, but then again, they might not.
Thanks for the update.
