Just a couple of questions
First question is what s safe to take for headaches? I get them very often and they get pretty painful. Second question is about coffee. I have read to stay away from coffee due to caffeine and I have also read coffee is OK. Maybe decaf is acceptable. I love the taste of coffee. I found the So Delicious brand coffee creamer that is probably yummy. I like all the other So Delicious things I have tried so far. Thanks ahead of time :)
Jodybug, I used to get migraine headaches and they were awful. What worked best for me then was a cup of coffee and a couple of ibuprofen. As ibuprofen can cause us issues, you might want to try the coffee (which supposedly helps open up the blood vessels) and some tylenol. Eliminating gluten however has been a long-term permanent solution for me.
Tramadol is also safe, and any opioid product will not trigger a reaction, though they might trigger something else. Otherwise I agree with Deb — Tylenol is what many of us turn to, but I also found that it usually wouldn't stop a headache already in progress — it needs to be taken promptly, to prevent the headache from developing, and I had to take it with a snack or a meal to make it work.
Like Deb, I used to have headaches and migraines, but after my gut healed, I no longer have them — ever.

Re coffee
some people are AOK with it ( i am one of those) and for others it causes chaos
like many things in MC world, it is very individual
with decaf coffee, be cautious of non organic type ones, as they use chemical process for decaffination, so it is decaf with extra chemicals
with instant coffee / flavoured coffees are high risk for gluten and other ingredients that are high risk for MC'ers
I brew freshly ground coffee via stovetop coffee maker, have it black with small amount of coconut sugar and coconut oil ( bulletproof coffee technique)
Headaches - covered above by Deb and Tex. those issues went away for me once i was on the right eating plan and fixed magnesium deficiency!
hope this helps

I get hormonal headaches. I get relief from applying peppermint essential oil directly to wherever it hurts on my temple, forehead, etc...it is not as much relief as taking ibuprofen, and must be used more frequently, but it dulls it and is helpful. As they said, you can try Tylenol, though that never did much for me.
If it truly is a Migraine.....
Sumatriptan (aka Imitrex) is the only thing that will touch mine, and I can get away with 1 pill a day where I used to have to take one morning and night....They seem to get better as I continue to heal, but I still manage to get them from time to time....I still blame hormone fluctuation while I'm healing.
If it is just a random headache....I try to not take anything, I try to figure out if I have drank enough during the day and if it appears I've done everything I can I will revert to Tylenol.
