Enterolab test ordering

Post by ManiacalFairy »

I see my GI tomorrow and my PCP Thursday. From what I'm reading on the Enterolab website it's more likely that my insurance will cover the testing if ordered through my MD vs me ordering the tests on my own. My question is, how does my MD go about doing the actual ordering?

First, she (or he) has to be willing. Many doctors don't believe in stool tests because they still don't believe in food sensitivities or they believe that food sensitivities don't have anything to do with MC, and they won't order the test. Here's a link to the website:

http://enterolabtest.com/?gclid=CJXs7vW ... wAodxVUBFg

When you click on the "Order Test" tab at the top, you get a page with 3 test choices. Most people order the third one, because it covers most foods that might be a problem with MC.

Or, I assume that you can still call them on the phone to order.

Woah... did I order from the wrong site? I went to this site: https://www.enterolab.com/ (the one that has the three Dr. Fine videos at the top) and saw an entirely different layout and home page than the link you listed above. Also, I paid $539 for the full work up but it's $499 on the link you sent?????

I suspect that's a new site they're trying out. I've never seen it before. I just stumbled across it this morning. The one you mentioned is the one everyone has used previously. I wonder about the price difference. It's been $539 for a long time. Could be a promotion. Or maybe they're going to phase out a bunch of tests to simplify things. I reckon eventually someone will become curious about it and call them.

Otherwise

I'm thinking someone who updates their website didn't put the correct amount on that testing on the first page...if you go to the More Tests it is $539 for the A1-C1 combo....
