the word 'Doctor' as the keyword in the search
and then as you scan the results the forum section is on the left, the doctors section of the forum was one of the top 20 results

when doing this type of searching using key words rather than key phrases tends to work a bit better.
I also find that as it is a global site, using words rather than phrasing provides slightly better results..

I read that in NYS and Maryland that an individual cannot order the Enterolab tests. Would my doctor be able to do this? I live in NYS.

Yes, your doctor could order the test if she or he is willing. Many members end up having a relative or a friend across state lines order the test for them, then they drive over and pick it up, collect the sample and then drive out-of-state again to send it to the lab.
When a family member or friend isn't available, another member of this forum would be willing to do it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
No, unlike the blood tests (which are only good for a month or so after starting a GF diet), EnteroLabs stool tests will normally detect gluten sensitivity up to about 2 years after adopting a GF diet. That doesn't apply to the other foods, it only applies to gluten because anti-gliadin (anti-gluten) IgA antibodies have such a long half-life (120 days). By contrast, the half-life of most other food antibodies is only about 6 days
The only hitch would be if you have selective IgA deficiency. People who have selective IgA deficiency (about 1 in 500 in the general population) aren't capable of producing normal amounts of Immunoglobulin A. For such individuals, neither the celiac blood tests nor the stool tests are reliable. They may provide false negative results. This possibility can be ruled out with a simple blood test. Just ask your PCP to test you for selective IgA deficiency. Or, look at your previous test results, you may have already been tested if your GI specialist or your PCP tested you for celiac disease.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately Barbara began showing the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease about 6 or 7 years ago, and she hasn't posted in almost 5 years (since June 3, 2013). The disease progressed very rapidly, and we miss her a great deal. Yes, I believe that Dr. Chapman was her PCP, and he treated her for MC.

I am so sorry to hear of Barbara's affliction; it must be extremely difficult to deal with so much coming from all directions.
I was diagnosed with MC a couple of months ago. I'm on my first round of Budesonide. I did well when the script called for taking three doses a day, ever since I was cut down to two, some of the symptoms have returned.
