Broccoli

Post by Peggy »

I notice a lot of you mentioning eating broccoli in your diets...don't any of you have a problem with it making you gassy? I love broccoli but pretty much avoid it as much as I can. Cauliflower is even worse for me and I don't eat it at all anymore.

Broccoli and cauliflower are only a minor problem for me, and luckily I have a built-in pressure release system, (which has been recently modified, of course), but I do avoid them if/when I have a problem with D.

P S Those of us living in caves haven't yet become sophisticated enough to worry about air polution. Most caves have a lot of bones, feathers, and meat scraps, etc., lying around, anyway, which don't do a thing to help the air quality. LOL.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Well,

Like garlic on a date, as long as everyone partakes, it cancels out

There is a lot of gas-passing in general that occurs in my house - so I don't worry about it. plus, the more you eat it, it seems the effects level off - I guess the body adjusts...

Peg,
I have a lot of problems with gassiness when either of the veggies. I have avoided them lately due to the gas PAINS when I eat them.

Kind of stick to green beans now, mostly.

Love,
Mars

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one...I was beginning to think I was abnormal or something!

Abnormal, WHO? U? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not simply because of the passing of gas LOL!

I don't notice any difference in my gas passing when eating brocoli and/or cauliflower. Perhaps it is because I tend to eat it every day. Peggy, honestly some days I do pass more gas than others but I haven't attributed it to those veggies. I shall try to pay more attention in the near future to see if I can detect a relationship there.

Keep passing gas LOL!! Eat your brocoli!! Keeps you young (and smelly).

Love,
Karen
