Well, it varied sometimes but in my case at first the D would last for maybe a couple of weeks, with fever for maybe a week, but after a year or so the D usually only lasted about a week to 10 days and I didn't always have fever with it. When I did, it was for maybe 3 or 4 days. This was about 15 years ago, so my memory may be a little fuzzy on some of the details. This was before I changed my diet of course.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hmm wow that's fansinating because I just talked with my GI and he said fevers aren't apart of microscopic colitis. How do they not know this? And he is saying now I might have to be on antibiotics for the rest of my life for c-diff? I have never heard of such a thing that's legit insane!!!!!!

yes, even with the veges cooked for long duration, they do retain nutrients.
this is also the other advantage of having veges as part of soups and stews - you are consuming the juices they are cooked in.
or for more flavour - roast the veges. I peel mine, then put them in a plastic bag, and coat them with safe oil and some salt, and then roast.
re the C-diff etc my thoughts are is that there is a combo of issues going on and while you have the level of inflammation you have, and key nutrient deficiencies, no treatment will work so well, until your body has reduced inflammation, the nutrients to heal and balance with your immune system/ adrenals to function better (not over reacting, not under reacting etc)

Remember that in my case, the fever might have been associated with diverticulitis. Interestingly, the inflammation associated with diverticulitis is caused by same mechanism that causes the inflammation associated with LC, namely lymphocytic infiltration into the mucosa of the colon. When you have both going on at the same time, it's tough to separate out the symptoms. But the medical professionals are probably correct, the fever is caused by the diverticulitis. In your case, the fever is caused by the C.diff.
But that begs the question, "If lymphocytic infiltration causes fever with diverticulitis, why can't it cause fever with MC (LC)?" The mode of inflammation is the same.
I don't know if you've read my book, but in it I explain why (IMO) the immune system does so many seemingly strange things. IMO the immune system tends to concentrate on what it perceives to be the most serious threat at the moment. That's why intestinal worms (Helminths) can be successfully used to distract the immune system and stop a Chron's disease reaction, for example. With that in mind, I suspect that at least part of the reason why you're having recurring C. diff infections is because your immune system is distracted by other issues, so that it never concentrates on trying to control the C. diff (until it's too late).
Successful pathogens tend to generate enzymes that send signals to the immune system that "everything is OK down here". So the immune system may generally ignore what's happening. Cancer is a good example of an invader that is generally immune to immune system attack. Early on, cancer could be easily destroyed by the immune system. Except that cancer cells produce enzymes that allow it to "hide" in plain sight from the immune system. Likewise, the immune system should be easily capable of destroying small beginning colonies of C. diff bacteria. But they manage to convince the immune system that they are not a threat, so the colony grows. It can soon reach a size where it's too late for the immune system to be able to stop it, even if it recognizes the threat.

Quoting from my book on vitamin D:
Here are references 18 and 19 from that quote:An important link between cancer and autoimmune disease has been found in a protein known as survivin.
While survivin is highly expressed in fetal tissue during development, it's normally absent from adult tissue.18 Very recently, researchers have discovered that the T-cell lymphocytes that are responsible for the inflammation that causes MG, contain survivin.19 Survivin is well known to cancer researchers, because it is one of the proteins known as "inhibitors of apoptosis proteins" (IAPs). In medical circles, survivin is also known as baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis repeat-containing 5 (BIRC5). In humans, it's encoded by the BIRC5 gene.
As the descriptive name suggests, these proteins share the distinction of being able to inhibit programmed cell death. Obviously this implies that IAPs are capable of preventing the immune system from destroying cells that are protected by IAPs, and this technique is a primary survival tool used by cancer cells.

Gabes - Should I be always peeling my veggies? This whole time I have not been doing that but cooking from for 20 minutes, well with c-diff I have had it 4 times plus a fecal transplant so at this point I do not think my body can naturally rid itself of it. So they put me back on Vanco and I'm going to try and organize an immediate fecal transplant again.
Tex - Yes that all makes a lot more sense to me. I think that was happened. It is frustrating through since I got a transplant so it should have stopped this but I guess there was still a complication, because here I am a month later and it came back. So I feel at this point I need to get another and start taking kombucha and florastor probiotic even though it interferes with MC I have no choice and these attack the C-Diff. I did purchase your book today. I am just so terrified that I will end up dying from this since nothing is stopping it from coming back.
