the really encouraging news, for many people here, once they fix the Vit d3, magnesium type deficiencies Gerd/Acid reflux issues go away!

For me I think it was the combo of Vit d, magnesium and the P5P that fixed my chronic reflux issues ( ie I could not bend down to tie shoe laces without vomiting... now I have NO symptoms at all)

in line with Tex's reply above, 8 weeks of good Vit D3 supplementation and using topical magnesium. coupled with the right eating plan etc I think you will see some improvements...

It takes minimum 8 weeks of good supplementation to correct deficiencies, longer if the deficiency is at higher level and you have ongoing health issues.
Separate to supplementing with vit D, spending time in the sun, relaxed time in the sun every day is also good for the immune system. Get some good podcasts/audiobooks and do some nurture time outdoors each day...

The P5P drops look good, I could not view the full ingredients of the product - the only thing I would like to see before I say they are perfect is any inactive ingredients etc .

Tex - yeah I have known for some years that I have a vit D deffiency it runs in my family my other sister is as well. When I was around 15 I had severe acid reflex where it would come up into my mouth like I was vomiting and it burned my throats so bad that it started forming like a cob web in my throat so food would get trapped and I had to take an acid reflex Med to control it for a year and then I stopped it and they did two surgeries cutting out the webbing and opened my espogus up because it became the size of an infants.

Gabe's - that makes total sense I will definitely be doing that, wish I found you guys when I was 15 haha I think that's where all my health issues started to stem into bigger ones. What are your guys thoughts on plain gold potato cooked? Is that safe to eat? Should I search that further online for that?

Gold potato or orange sweet potato goes really well for me
well cooked (no skin) it has good Vit A and Vit C

like many things in MC world what works well for one can cause total chaos for another

cook up a small amount, have small serve, wait 24 hours, have another small serve, wait 24 hours and then have another small serve. If after the third consumption there are no major symptoms (either upper GI or lower GI) then that is your best indicator that it works for you.

as you read through things, ask questions and get answers, you will see how much of your current issues is linked to deficiencies of key nutrients AND excess inflammation and toxins. the good news is, you have found us now, and we can heal. and given your age, you have a much faster and better healing rate than those of us that are over 40 and 50. once you figure out your best eating plan and fix these deficiencies I am confident you will be pain free, can get rid of the C diff for good. may take a while but if you stick with it, it will be sooo worth it!

You asked how I avoided antibiotics since 2013... my PC doc is very aware of the danger for me to get Cdiff again...I'm 78.... I used products like Kick Ass Biotics and Nutricillin when fighting bronchitis etc. I upped my Vit D and magnesium levels, use powdered Vit C and take 3-7 grams daily. When I had my last heart ablation, I asked the surgeon to Use Vancomycin for the procedure since that is one they use for Cdiff...that helped...I didn't get Cdiff but it messed up my gut for a long while.

I have tried many different approaches ...it's trial and error for some of us.... Pepto Bismol protocol, avoiding Salicylates, Amines, Sulpur contaminant foods....etc.
Now on a steroid which is helping.
Try & read as many files as you can & previous posts and you will learn fast....
Hope this helps...

had my regular chiro appointment today and I asked about C Diff

no amount of treatment (faecal or antiobiotics) will clear it if you have excess inflammation AND immune system does not have nutrients to support body during treatment.

Gabes - Yes it does connect and make sense for me. I ordered all the items you have spoken about such as the vit D supplement, the mag in epsom salts & spray, and the vit B one I sent you a link to these are its other ingredients: Distilled Water, Propylene Glycol USP (derived from Vegetable Glycerin), Xylitol, Malic Acid, Sodium Carbonate, DMSO USP (Pharma Grade), Glucono Delta Lactate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Hyaluronic Acid.

Is that a go for the P5P? Also what is a chiro?

Sunny - Wow thats amazing that you have done it, what are avoiding Salicylates, Amines, Sulpur contaminant foods?
Just processed foods?

Salicylates are naturally occurring chemicals in many plants...veggies, fruits, & herbs...also found in many medicines ( aspirin), preservatives, & perfumes. Some people have salicylate sensitivity and others have an intolerance....I learned that so many foods contain salicylates, it was a real challenge to find food without Salicylates! It was part of my process trying to find what food might be triggering my gut distress. You can search the files here or google salicylates or amines etc and learn much more. But it's daunting to find out so many foods may be problematic.
You are just starting out, so I'd start with the basics folks are sharing with you...avoiding gluten, dairy, soy, etc.Give your self time to let your body adjust to these changes....

that is my aussie lingo!
chiro - chiropractor (arvo - afternoon, rego - registration etc)

I have a fantastic functional, super smart chiropractors - they know about cell health, toxins, methylation, hormones, thyroid, adrenals etc etc. we have been working closely for almost 2 years, correcting and healing all my imbalances/issues with fantastic results!
they have done loads of 'extra study' about all the inner workings of the human body and what impacts illness. and their main aim is to help people heal and optimise life.

the P5P drops, there are some less than ideal ingredients but in the scheme of you getting some P5P into your system until your reflux etc improves then it is viable option.
of note the Thorne P5P capsules from iHerb are micro small 1/3 size of normal capsules - my thinking is, for now use the liquid, and once you get the Vit D3 and magnesium levels improved, and the upper GI improves, you might be able to handle the small capsules.

and agree with sunny, start with the basic eating plan changes, and with time, if you need to fine tune things due to other less common issues then we delve into that if needbe.

happy healing
