If it's not one thing it's another!
OK, so this is Saturday and Monday will be three weeks of the paleo diet and sulfasalazine. I am now constipated, brain fogs and headaches have gotten worse, I get the jitters, and dizzy. I didn't think my fatigue could get any worse, boy was I wrong. I know it is from my body detoxing, but hoping it finishes soon. Working full time like this is . Anyway, what my question is, for anyone who went from WD to constipation, his did you relieve it? I haven't cheated at all on this diet because I am determined to heal and get back to some sort of normal. ( after having this more than half my life even tho just diagnosed, I'm not really sure what "normal" is. ) Thank you all for listening to me whine and vent. Sorry, I know people get tired of hearing me complain, I just feel like at least on here, others know exactly what you're going through.
Budesonide is constipating. If you are taking budesonide, reduce the dose. Or if you are already on a minimal dose, stop taking it, If you are not taking budesonide, you may need to increase the amount of fiber in your diet, or increase the amount of oral magnesium you are taking. Constipation is a symptom of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium citrate may be more effective for relieving constipation than magnesium, glycinate.

OK, thank you Tex. I will look into getting some magnesium citrate. I don't take budesonide, I take sulfasalizine and bentyl three times a day. I have cut the sulfasalizine to twice a day and bentyl to once the last two days to see if that helps. I also take metoprolol tartare for my heart issues, Zoloft for OCD.
Initially, bentyl was a life saver for me. After about a year the pain returned and my dr told me that I could increase the dosage. That's when I became dizzy but I didn't realize that it was a side effect of bentyl until one day when I was so dizzy that I was prone on the couch. I decided that it could only be the bentyl and I crawled to the computer to google the side effects. Once I determined that bentyl was indeed the problem, I called and left a message for my doctor. They said to stop the medication immediately, which I had already done, and the dizziness lifted.
All that to say that you may be experiencing an unwanted side effect of bentyl. It really helped with the pain and I wasn't happy about having to stop taking it but the alternative was worse.

Yes, constipation is a listed side effect of bentyl. I believe it's not a common side effect, it's due to an adverse reaction against the drug by some patients. Stopping it may be all you need to do to resolve the problem.

the first 6-9 months are draining, there are lots of 2 steps forward and 1 step back moments in the MC healing journey and while you figure out 'your' MC management plan...
if you have read some of the posts in the member success stories area, you will see this is very normal and with time you will find 'your new normal'
hang in there...
