My worst fear happened

Post by jessica329 »

We ate out last night. I ordered safe foods. My stomach started bubbling on and off on the way home, but I felt like I could make it home. Then I got hit with; I need to go NOW. My hubby pulled over at a supermarket. I almost made it to the bathroom but did not. Ever since then, I've gone small amounts of poop mixed with blood. I took Imodium and now just have urges. I just got home from Target to get Pedialyte and while I was in the store, I felt like liquid was coming out. When I got home and wiped, it was clear. My question- for those of you that this has happened to, it is normal to have blood after?

Currently waiting for the GI to call me back so I can make an appointment.

I can't really answer the blood part for you, because when I do bleed it's a large amount more from a hemorrhoid .....I can relate to not making it to the bathroom, not long ago a traffic jam forced me to pull behind a CVS and go in a bag that unfortunately I keep in my car for such fear of what could happen. As humiliated and upset I was about the whole ordeal I was glad I had my bag supply handy.I knew I couldn't make it into the store....so I just wanted to say I'm sorry that happened to you, and you're not alone. I am sure someone will answer your blood question for you soon! And let us know what the GI says about it....

Sorry this happened to you. No, it's not normal. I wonder what the heck they had in that meal. ???

You must have been allergic to something in the food, to react that quickly. If it was due to bacteria, I don't see how the reaction would have started so soon. That reaction had to be due to IgE antibodies. A normal MC reaction (due to IgA antibodies) would have begun from 3 to 6 hours after starting the meal.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks. The worst part was that I was wearing a long flowing white skirt . But after some elbow grease, it's nice and clean! I can't get in with my GI until Sept. 7th .

That's a long time to have to wait to see a GI doc.
