Question for magnesium supplement users

Post by Sue777 »

Hi Team.
I purchased Remag and some mineral skin lotion a few weeks ago. I have been using the lotion but really don't like it - it doesn't fully absorb and leaves a sticky feeling. So instead I have been rubbing the Remag into my skin a few times a day but really have no way of knowing if that's effective or not.

So... I've been trying to take the Remag orally. When I tried it a few weeks ago it caused intense diarrhea but I was pretty much still flaring anyway so that was probably a bad idea. Two days ago I tried taking 10 drops of Remag over the course of 90 minutes but had the same effect. So yesterday I tried taking 3 drops in the morning, 3 drops in the afternoon, and 3 drops before bed. Diarrhea this morning.

Advice or suggestions? And more importantly, am I doing damage to my healing process by trying to add the magnesium at this stage of the game? I'm 2 weeks gluten free so I'm sure I still have a lot more healing to do but I really don't want to wait 6 months to start the magnesium.

Hey Sue,

Dumb question here.....Are you having D everyday even without the ReMag? If not then I would just use it topically for now. Taking an Epsom salts bath or foot soak daily gives a good amount of mag. Its all in the sticky on magnesium if you have questions on how much, etc. I used Ancient Minerals lotion before I started taking ReMag. I didn't notice it being overly sticky. And spraying the ReMag on the skin is still effective.

Truth be told here. I did not heal fully UNTIL I started taking ReMag and the other minerals on Dr. Dean's site. I did the full tests on Enterolab last summer when I was still having WD and I was not reacting to anything! My body just did not have what it needed mineral wise to heal my gut. But I started the ReMag after 3 years on a very basic Stage 1 to 2 diet. I took 6 months to get up to the therapeutic dose of 2 teaspoons of ReMag.

Maybe its just too early in the game for you (which I don't think) or you are doing a bit of detoxing. Do you still take Budensoside? ( I can't remember). Google Dr. Dean and when magnesium makes me worse. Many things can happen when you rev up the 700-800 enzyme systems the body has that depend on Mag!

Its hard for me to shut up about Dr. Deans products because I would literally be up a s*$t creek without them. Once I gave the ReMag a try and noticed incredible benefits, I ordered everything from her and take ALL of what she offers supplement wise. Even the very pricey RnA Drops. I have to budget carefully to afford this stuff but saying its worth it is an incredible understatement. I had been around this block with naturopaths before and it was almost as bad as allopathic medicine. And I never noticed any real changes after spending loads of money.....so it was a real leap of faith for me to try again. I think all of her completement formulas do work synergistically to reap the full benefits.....

Sorry for the long post! I just want everyone to feel their best!

P.S. No I would NOT wait 6 months to start magnesium. Your body desperately needs it to do almost every task it requires! I would wait 6 months to 5 years on the bland diet to notice real lasting changes. You'll have up and down days and get better gradually but it takes a very long time. Hard truth.....

Love,

Vanessa

Vanessa,
Thanks for posting this...I take the Re Mag & Re Myte too, but only 1/4 tsp a day...I hate the metallic taste if I increase it even with lemon juice to cut the taste....and I forget to make it several times a day...
Do you have a routine you use....I also take Doctors Best mag tablets...
I was impressed with how much you've been helped by the products....I haven't seen that, but probably because not taking enough....

Thanks, Vanessa.
I'm on two Entocort a day (will wean down to one in 4 weeks when I return from my trip) and no, I wasn't having diarrhea until I started taking the Remag orally.

I just take a few drops of Remag and rub it into my skin.... is there a reason I should be spraying it instead?

Hey Sunny,

I have a big glass bottle that is 22 oz and put 1 teaspoon of ReMag and 1/2 teaspoon of ReMyte in that with the pink salt. I keep topping that off with regular water for the first half of the day and then repeat the same procedure for the second half. I usually drink more during the day, so I don't top off my bottle with regular water that much in the evening. You are not in the minority about the taste. I enjoy it and can't stand the taste of plain water. You can put ReMag on your food and Dr. Deans team just recently tested it in hot liquid to see if stayed stabilized and determined you can also add it to hot drinks. Their are other ways to sneak it in. Definitely getting the therapeutic dose will make a huge difference.

You'll have to google what she says about edema and maybe listen to the radio show. The website used to be super user friendly but the FDA has recently come down on Dr. Dean and she can no longer talk about disease and her products! They want you to take the drugs instead. Incredible......it just means she's doing something right. She's helping too many people and Big Pharma is losing their money to her. Next they will be after Tex and this forum! I hope you feel better soon and you are getting rest. Let us know if your book is any good.....

Hey Sue,

I think if you spray the ReMag, you will just get more of it on you (which is good). Dr. Dean says to spray and not rub it in, just let it soak in and dry on the skin and then repeat. I will do this before a jog and it just kind of dries into salt. Then I shower it off. I would do this with the other mag oils. Spray all over, take an "air bath" for twenty minutes and then shower it off so I wouldn't be sticky and salty. I hope your trip goes well. Keep us posted on how you do!

Hi Vanessa.... thanks so much for the great info. I just found a small spray bottle, emptied the contents, cleaned it thoroughly, and filled it with Remag. I sprayed some on but have a question (or two).

I'm sure Dr. Dean and you know MUCH better than I do so of course I will spray it on, but I'm curious: wouldn't it seem that rubbing it in would get it into the cells more efficiently than letting it air dry? In other words, when it's air-drying, isn't most of it just basically getting evaporated into the air instead of absorbed into the skin?

Also, I see the guidelines on how many sprays equals how many ml's or teaspoons, but obviously everyone's spray bottle is a little different so I guess I should use that as a general guideline. But do you happen to know how much actual magnesium we're getting when we spray it on as opposed to ingesting it? I'm guessing it's not as much so should I be spraying on more total Remag than I would take orally when I'm just starting out on it?

Thanks again.

Hey Sue,

If I were in your situation, I would do an epsom salts foot soak for 20 minutes every night to get around 200mg of mag. Then I would try to hit spraying the ReMag 10 sprays four times a day on face, arms, legs, belly, or back. Gabes would put a spray bottle by the loo and spray on her thighs everytime she went potty. That would bring you up around 400-500 mg. I wouldn't over think rubbing versus drying on the skin. It will get in there. I use it for deep tissue injuries and it seems to have a "layering" effect when I let it dry for 5 minutes and then spray the area again. But if rubbing it in feels better to you, do it that way. Since the particle size of the ReMag is pico ionic tiny tiny stabilized ions, it is more easily absorbed than most mags even on the skin. Thats why we warn it can be potent stuff. It gets to work in your cells right away.

Happy Spraying! :conversation:

Only the solvent evaporates. The magnesium salt remains behind (it precipitates out).

I wasn't really enjoying the hassle of the foot soaks..... filling and carrying the tub of water, splashing and spilling it with three dogs jumping around (one of them trying to get in and soak with me!) so how about I skip the foot soaks and just spray more?

Thanks, Tex....do I rinse the stuff off or just let it dry and leave it there? Isn't that going to dry out my skin something terrible?

Some people leave it on, but I take a shower after giving it about 20 minutes to soak in. It can be drying — taxidermists use salt (sodium chloride) as a dessicant to help draw the moisture out of animal capes and hides when curing them. It will preserve the hide and keep it from spoiling, even without refrigeration. I'm not sure how effective magnesium chloride is as a dessicant, but surely it is somewhat drying.

If you use magnesium oil, the oil will counteract the drying effect.

Vanessa...
Thanx for the tip! I've been stuck in a rut with a glass 12 oz bottle...will look for larger one & try that...sounds doable!
I get Dr Deans newsletter & saw what FDA has done...used to listen to her program Monday's till my life got so crazy...I'll check her archives for info on edema...nice tip....I thought...."Well, duh, Sunny!"😉
And yes! The book is very good....hooked right away...I'm a fan of Michael Connely and have read all of his books....he introduces a new main character...a female cop....
Thanx again,
Sunny

Remag dosing

Post by grhandlan@comcast.net »

Vanessa
Hi Vanessa, my name is Gena, I have been following this group for about 1 1/2 years. It has been a life saver to say the least. Question for you about remag. I was on ionic magnesium for about, oh not quite a year, and i was finding i was needing more and more to handle the body aches from increased exercising. my husband and i are training for the Camino De Santiago...... lots of walking.......anyway ..... so i switched to remag... WOW! what a difference.... I feel great!!!!! question is how much is safe to take? I am up to 2 1/2 or 3 capfuls on heavy exercise or stress days...... would love your advice or experience.... thanks Gena (Fox Island Washington State)

Hi Gena,

The ReMag has saved my life! I use a baby medicine dropper that actually measures out teaspoons, the capfuls aren't very reliable. I'm a runner and require anywhere from 600-750mg a day. I go by my symptoms which for me are heart palps. If your kidneys are in good working order, mag has a fail safe. You will get diarrhea if you take too much.

Once I noticed how awesome the ReMag was, I went on all of Dr. Dean's supplements and found true healing. I follow instructions to the T. She is a smart lady and has her reasons. I make sure and drink half my body weight in ounces of water and add the sea salt....you can feel pretty bad adding that many minerals and not drinking enough water.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
