Hi,
I visited my doctor today and asked her about Cholestyramine (Questran). She said that it was almost the same as Pancrelipase (Creon). I have tried Creon and that gave me a stomachache.
My question is could you benefit from Cholestyramine even if Pancrelipase don't work for you?

I'm puzzled at why your doctor would say that — Creon is a pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy and cholestyramine is a bile acid sequestrant. They are definitely not the same thing — they're not even similar. Enzymes break down (digest) substances to enhance absorption, whereas sequestrants bind substances so they cannot be absorbed. Your doctor may have been confused and she had a brain fart.
Yes, cholestyramine has a completely different mode of action, so it might work for you even though pancrelipase does not help.
