A question about lips and mouth

Post by May2yuk! »

Are there any concerns about what we put on our lips or the toothpastes and mouth washes used?

I thought of this question because my lips have been unusually dry and I read that sodium lauryl sulfate can cause dry lips.
And if sorbitol is in my toothpaste can that contribute to my CC?

The sorbitol probably won't bother you (you won't get enough of it), but check the label, because some toothpastes contain gluten or some other ingredient to which you might be allergic or intolerant. Many members use products that contains only a few, simple ingredients. Someone else can probably suggest specific brands they use. Or you can check the section on Selecting Safe Cosmetics. Some of the posts might have suggestions.

Yes, what we put on our skin does matter, especially our lips.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Sure. Here's a link. Unfortunately no one has suggested any new additions in a long time. So some of these may have already retired or moved.
