Good grief... it seems the harder we try to get our bodies healthy, the more roadblocks and hurdles the Universe puts up! I gave up gluten almost 4 weeks ago and have noticed some improvements, and since my Enterolab results stated I am fine with eggs, I've been eating hard-boiled eggs for breakfast for the fat and protein. I've noticed in the past few days that as lunch time rolls around I'm starting to feel crappy and it gets worse as the day goes on. Of course I've been trying to figure out what and why, and may have just come up with something:
I do notice I react to soy (it was slightly elevated on the Enterolab results) and it seems Eggland's Best chickens are fed soy. Really? Can I be reacting to what the chickens ate??????
Good Lord, our consumption world keeps getting smaller and smaller. I will stop eating eggs, see if I start feeling better, and some week when I don't have a lot going on in my life, will try eating them again. Sheesh!
Anyone know if this could really be affecting us.... the foods that the chicken ate?!?!?! Should I stop eating chicken, too????

Diagnosed November 2004, Used Asacol and Lialda, sometimes worked, sometimes made it worse. Entocort always works but hate it. Remission only lasts 3-6 months and then back on Entocort. Enterolab test July 2017, now gluten free. Time will tell!

Sue,
Many mainstream commercial eggs are sprayed with vegetable oil (read that soy oil) to keep them fresh longer (it seals the pores to keep bacteria out longer). That's probably the problem. But it's not impossible that you are reacting to something in the chickens' ration. For that reason, many members (who can eat eggs) buy organic eggs or buy eggs at Farmers Markets. If you feel that you are still having problems with the eggs after you make that change, try duck eggs.
Maybe someone can describe what they did to get around the problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Tex.
I buy the Eggland's Best already cooked / already peeled" eggs but that doesn't mean those aren't sprayed with oil, too. It's a learning process!
