Diagnosed with LC June 2017 after months of D. I'm in stage 2 of slowly reintroducing foods. Thank you for your help!
I'll usually have a small solid in the morning followed by various other forms of poops ranging from poofs, floaters, small peices, to pencil size. Is one type better than the other? Will I ever just have one again in the morning like I used to? I found in the forum that battery acid D is from dairy intolerance. That's helpful to know. Just wondering if there is guidence on different types and what they mean.
Thanks,
Carolmc
Newbie/What do the different poops mean?

Hi Carol,
Welcome aboard. Yes, Sally was kind enough to post The Poopies Files for us over 12 years ago.
Seriously, your poop pattern is common during recovery — while you are sleeping, your colon has time to extract some of the water, so you get at least a partial "Norman" first thing in the morning. As the day unfolds, motility speeds up, and the structural integrity of your movements begins to disintegrate because there is inadequate time for your colon to extract the water. Yes, if you had normal formed bowel movements before MC came along, if you stick with your treatment program (assuming it's effective), you will eventually return to a normal pattern as your intestines heal.
Again, welcome to our Internet family, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
