Kait is hooked with wires (to the brain) which is attached to a monitor which keeps watch over all brain function--(best I can Xplain)
and when these so called seizures(which now arent) occur---the monitor shows whats going on!!!!

As I said----the monitor is showing NORMAL BRAIN WAVE activity???

Trust me-----I dont get it either~~~~

Wayne-----I found that article very interesting----am saving it for Lynn or I shall email it to her----

When Kait,@ the age of 2 amd 1/2 ,had the tumor removed she then was very ill with meningitis---

And she is on meds. for pain which also is used for seizures---cant recall what it is---
She has been on so many drugs--

Perhaps this will calm Lynn down a bit---

Right now she is @ the hospital----hopefully not screaming @ Harter--

PS. years back Kait would say--I am staring----and go into a seizure
and yes---she told me,when they started again that she gets these *auras* warning her----

Lynn has also called her pediatric neuro --regarding this problem

I'm like you, I don't see how in the world her brain waves could remain normal, during one of those episodes, unless the meds are causing them to remain normal.

Do you happen to know if she is registering alpha waves, (the relatively slow brain waves of a relaxed, awake state ), or beta waves, (the relatively fast and irregular waves of an alert, awake state), during the "episodes"?

Barb you have you get another opinion on this. Is there another specialist that could be called in to have a look at Kait. I think you are always entitled to get another opinion. Maybe the Phoenix doc would be worth a try, although it would be I should imagine a pretty taxing journey for her. Don't know what else to suggest. It is a wonder that DR H has not consulted with another doctor about her case.

Liz----the neuros meet @ a round table and discuss A case--that which being Kait~~~
Right now Lynn is a banana case and she off and running to Phoenix again!!!

It is useless talking to her---and I understand that----but Lynn is even aggitating Lou with HER DIAGNOSIS!!!

So we are all banging our heads against the wall!!!

There are times WHEN Lynn INSISTS she is the diagnosing doctor!!!!
Which is where the disputes come into play with the other neuros--

Liz---when Kait was at another hospital,in New York, she went thru the same things----and the opinions from this other bunch of neuros was the same~~~~~ *DUH*---we dont know?????

This is the 3rd hospital she has been in----double DUH!!
