Nuclear cardiac imaging
My regular doctor finally got tired of hearing me complain about my lack of get-up-and-go and sent me to a cardiologist for a check up. He was very attentive and interested in my last two years of dealing with MC and all the research I had done on my own. I even took a copy of Tex's book and he read some of it during our talk. What we both think is of course this fatigue is probably just part of the beast, but suggested we do a stress test so we can be sure. Partly because of my age (67) and he wanted to rule out heart problems.
So my question is: since stress is a problem for us, is this going to mess me up?? I'm even planning on taking a change of clothes with me for "just in case." I am curious about what might or might not be going on, but I'm a little scared too. Have any of you wonderful people ever had a nuclear cardiac imaging done?

Thank you Starfire for your quick response. This makes me feel a whole lot better about this procedure. I wish I didn't have to sit and stew over it for 2 weeks before I can get in there and get it done. I don't do "wait" well!

Do you know if the "stress" part of your test will be on the treadmill or will it be chemical? With the chemical, they use medicine to increase your heart rate and you are lying down.
I have not had any problems during my stress tests either. I have had treadmill and chemical stress tests.
Good luck!

Thanks Lou Ann and Brenda for your comments. Then stress part is to be the treadmill. That's the part I'm really not looking forward to because I truly don't have any energy. And no coffee for 24 hours before the test won't be helpful!

Hey Laura,
I know how much we harp on magnesium around here...... I had such terrible fatigue for 2 years that I was walking around like a dead carcass. I would sink into it and just cry. Once I found the right kind of mag and ENOUGH of it, the fatigue went in a couple of months. Your heart muscle also loves magnesium and uses up a lot of it to stay healthy. Good luck on your test, you will do great.

I agree. When I resolved my chronic magnesium deficiency, my energy and endurance improved noticeably. The feeling of constant fatigue faded away.

Hey to you Vanessa, Tex and Sunny....
Thanks for the big reminder about what I should really be paying attention to: magnesium and D3!!! I should have known. I guess I thought since everything else is going swimmingly that it wasn't an issue. I'm still a "newbie " at heart (no pun intended ) and have to remember to look at all the sides of a problem. I'm going to start today with some extra sprays of mag oil tonight and maybe a foot sock while I'm at it. (Still can't deal with the pill form yet).
Thanks to all you all!

They do. Here's a quote from my new book:Sunny wrote:Kinda like all roads lead to magnesium...or Vitamin D...
Writing about Dr. Norman Shealy, a well-known neurosurgeon and pioneer in the area of pain medicine, Dr.Mark Sircus pointed out that Dr.Shealy once noted that, “Every known illness is associated with a magnesium deficiency” (Sircus, 2009, December 8).
