Two New Yummy GF Snacks
Greetings!
I just tried two new GF products and wanted to share them with you. It is so difficult to find any safe snack food. AND, wait for it...........lol........both are ALL ORGANIC and NON-GMO! Hallelujah!
1. Simple Mills Fine Ground Sea Salt Almond Flour Crackers
Ingredients: nut/seed flour blend (almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds), tapioca, cassava, sunflower oil, sea salt, onion, garlic, rosemary extract (fiber only 2 gms per 17 crackers)
These have been perfect for me! The one snack food I have always been addicted to are potato chips. I had found a brand with an organic safe oil but not the potatoes. (Very few companies makes chips with organic potatoes, which is truly a shame, given that potatoes are one of the foods found to contain the most pesticides/herbicides). The crackers are crispy and a little salty and have a mouth feel similar to chips.
2. Lundberg's Sweet Dreams
Ingredients: brown rice, 66% cacao dark chocolate (contains cacao beans, cane sugar cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin, and cocoa butter)
This is such a great and simple idea.....just a thin round brown rice cake covered with dark chocolate (without any milk or soy). For those who can tolerate chocolate this is a real boon! And they are delicious!
As you know from my recent posts, I have come to believe that my gut issues may have been due, in large part, to the chemicals (and possibly GMOs) that were in my foods. I am on a mission to find as many organic, non-GMO foods as I can. Perhaps it is not the processing of some foods that is the problem, it is the contaminated food itself.
BTW, have you discovered Thrive Market on-line? They are selling lots of organic/non-GMO foods, as well as beauty/health products and more. The only GF, organic and non-GMO cookie I have been able to find anywhere is here. (I just ordered some, so I can't give you a review yet!) There are tons of GF cookies now available on store shelves, some that are also GMO-free, but I can find NONE that are also organic. This means that they still probably contain Roundup and other chemicals.
I have learned that anything labelled organic is also by definition non-GMO; however, if labelled non-GMO only, it can be toxic due what was sprayed on them. So, ORGANIC is the key label to look for.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Polly, I was looking at the Sea Salt Almond Crackers in the store yesterday and they do look delicious. I will definitely put them on my shopping list for next week. It's so nice to have a safe treat once in awhile. I'm still so happy about adding almond butter back into my diet!
Thank you for the suggestions:)
