Susanne,

Cholestyramine gave me my life back! It's worth a try. If you want to discuss further, feel free to PM me.

Susanne,

I feel your pain - been there, done that!!! Despite what doctors say, this is a beast of a disease, and I don't think it ever goes away. For me, my reactions to food seem to vary from meal to meal. There is so much going on in our systems, mentally, emotionally and physically, that what seems good today can be bad tomorrow:(. In the 7 years I have been dealing with tweaking the food I eat, I have never been able to nail down a "safe" diet. The only thing I know for absolutely certain is that gluten, dairy and soy are poison to my system.

Anyhow, a couple of years into the healing process, I decided to start focusing on living my life instead of on perfecting the contents in the toilet:). Yoga then became a huge part of my life, as I started training to be a teacher. After a year I got my teaching certification and started teaching right away. I have now been teaching, as well as continuing to learn, for over 4 years. Yoga is such a wonderful discipline in so many ways, including calming the mind and body.

There are lots of free yoga classes on-line. I subscribe to a program called Ekhartyoga.com. They have excellent teachers in every style of yoga. Many of their classes are free, but to get access to all of them, there is a $110 annual fee, which is less than $10 a month. If you subscribe, you'll never run out of programs and classes to participate in. You may want to give it a whirl by taking some of their free classes and see how you like it.

I couldn't agree more with your doctor - taking time to "nurture" yourself every day should be a priority. If not yoga, there are many other ways to do it. I have lately started walking in the evening as the sun is setting, and am enjoying being outside in fresh air, watching the sun go down, as I'm getting exercise. This is a wonderful activity that's absolutely free .

Wishing you all the best as you navigate through this chapter of your MC journey.

Love,
Kari

Hi Kari,

Thank you for the information on Ekhartyoga.com, I plan on trying a free session this week. It's finally getting a little cooler here in NC, I hope to get some evening walks in around the neighborhood, it's a 2 mile walk. I used to take that walk every am but the D got in the way and I got lazy. I do go to the gym but not enough lately.

I certainly feel like my life revolves around the toilet, it determines if I'm going to have a good day or bad day. Bad days are what I call a "full body assault", that's how it feels sometimes. I haven't had any D since last week, the past few days have been ok.

Funny when eating out and I look at a menu, I view everything as poison and order the plainest dish on the menu and keep my fingers crossed. I hope to get my diet right soon.

Thanks again for your encouraging words and the information on yoga, it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Susanne
