New location and questions about corn starch in baby aspirin

Post by bevfromwa »

I need to change my profile--I am no longer bevfromwa, I moved to CA to be closer to my family after my husband died. Will be moving into a condo in Rossmoor, Walnut Creek, this week. I need to change my email address and can't figure out how to do it. My old address will forward (usually) to new address, but should change it.

Stress probably enters into this, as the past 11 months have been horrible, with Dave dying, selling house in WA, looking and buying in CA, but don't think I can blame everything on stress. I had a small stroke almost 3 years ago and was prescribed baby aspirin. The last several months have been D almost every day and night. I am wondering if corn starch is the cause of this? Corn was my worst allergen on enterolab tests, and after taking aspirin all this time, suddenly wondered. Research shows there is not a single product out there without corn starch. Someone mentioned powder which is vet grade. Hmm! Or maybe it's simply that it's 81 mg of NSAIDs every single day. I hesitate to discontinue it because of the risk. I guess Plavix would be an alternative. Of course I have to find all new doctors here.

Any ideas? Thanks, Beverly

Hi Beverly,

I reset a control panel feature of this forum so that you can now go into your profile (click on the "profile" link above) and change your user name. You can also change your email address, location, and anything else you want to change while you're in there. Be sure to remember to click on the "submit" button at the bottom of the profile form in order to actually enter the changes. The system may deactivate your account when you change your email address, but I'll reactivate it when it sends me a notice that it's deactivated your account.

I'm sorry you're having all the problems. It might be the corn, but I suspect it's the NSAID itself that is causing the D.

I hope this helps.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Beverly,
I just left Oregon &moved to Washington so I can empathize a little ....I have had difficulty with new insurance and new doctors and getting referrals in a timely manner.
You have certainly had a stressful year and are probably still mourning....but aspirin is a problem for us MC patients...you might want to do a search for aspirin in the files and learn why...
