Hmmmm, yes, well, now you mention it, the abbreviation of "ass" for "associated" does conjure up a vision of "baboon butt" :crack:

But, that aside, the research should be interesting.... if anyone can access it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Dear Tex or Gabes
What is your opinion about the book, the plant paradox.by Dr.Steven Gundry. He says he can cure microscopic colitis{all autoimmune diseases] by diet.Lectins are the culprit, glutin is only one of many lectin. He says that gluten free products can be just as bad as having gluten. His meal plan is virtually impossible for a M.C. person to follow.Just curious if you read his book and your opion?

Hi Erica,

In my opinion, he's just blowing smoke, trying to sell a book. It's true that there are many lectins, but so what. We all know that. And you can't completely avoid all lectins. And it's true that many GF foods are almost as bad as foods that contain gluten, but so what? We recommend cooking from scratch using whole foods anyway. The problem is that there are many food ingredients other than lectins that promote MC, so just avoiding lectins is not going to do the trick.

And he's claiming something impossible when he says his diet can "cure" MC. Once the genes are triggered to activate the disease, there is no way to "untrigger" them, so there is no cure. I wouldn't waste my money on any book that claims to describe a way to cure MC. That ain't gonna happen, no matter how much we would like to believe it.

As I said, that's just my opinion.
