New Cardiologist wants me back on Budesonide!

Post by sunny »

I was very impressed with my new Cardiologist today...he's very caring & listened, asked questions, thought a while, then asked more questions etc.
Apparently my heart function has really diminished and he said from his point of view he'd prefer that I stay on Budesonide even with the side effects...anything to stop the diarrhea. He said , "You just HAVE to stop this diarrhea! you can't just live with it!"He's glad I see a GI doc next week...

It's the balance of fluids that is so crucial for me, impacting heart, kidneys, and lungs.
I have Pulmonary Hypertension ( darn!)and my heart is just too weak to pump fluid so that's why the enormous "giraffe knee "ankles.
He's looking at making slow changes starting with a different diuretic, then blood test for kidney function. And then a possible hospital stay of 2-3 days to administer Inotropes to stimulate & increase the force of contraction of my heart .
He also mentioned the new drug, Entresto ,as another option to help prolong my life...gulp! That commercial with the song..." The sun will come out tomorrow..." may become my theme song...if you've seen the commercial you will understand...

Don't forget to really research the Magnesium and VitD3 protocol since this is your heart that is giving you tell tale signs.....

Tex has talked alot about how we need lots of Magnesium to get hundreds of cells to talk to one another properly....this is just another area to put the focus....the more chemical drugs you partake in the potential for more magnesium loss and more side effects and more deterioration of the heart. My opinion....but I can't help but throw this out there for further investigation since your Cardiologist seems to be listening and Magnesium can't hurt you.

Ever since the Magnesium took care of my heart palpitations two years ago and then I read up on it at the NIH website....I am completely convinced that the electrons were beginning to not work right because I didn't have enough Mag/VitD3 balance in my life, plus I was marching my way thru menopause which didn't help.

I can tell even now when my Mag is low, I get hints of head aches, and if I ignore it I can get the heart flutters again....so I heed its warning now and compensate for it and I feel good again.

Hugs, I just want you to be healthy and happy

Erica,
Thanx for the reminder...I do make up a big jug of ReMag & ReMyte, lemon juice & sea salt....but sometimes I forget to get more than one glass a day...also take 200 mg Doctors Best twice daily...
Just read one of Tex's posts about needing more Vit D when taking Entocort...oh! Good to know.
I've been so sick past 2days I missed all my morning meds so that threw me off too...so I appreciate your reminder!

Sunny,

If you're under a cardiologist's care, it might be a good idea to get his or her opinion if you're going to take that much magnesium. It's possible to take too much with certain heart conditions. It's probably OK in your case but I'd rather he or she knew how much you're taking, especially with the pulmonary hypertension diagnosis. Magnesium may lower your blood pressure.

Tex..thanx for that warning...!i do have low BP...100/68 to 112/68....
Perhaps it's the mag...didn't realize mag could lower it....there's so much emphasis on mag on Dr Deans emails, I've been more diligent in taking it.... so think I'll relax on that a bit till I can see cardiologist Oct 4...

I also have had Afib in the past so trying to keep myself in rhythm.
Thanx for having my back!

I hope you feel better as each day passes. I agree with Tex on the Magnesium. We heart patients have to run all the supplements we take past the Cardiologist for our heart concerns.
Here is a couple of hugs :bigbighug: :bigbighug:

Hey Sunny,

Thinking of you! Tex is right, maybe let the Dr.'s know, (assuming they'll know anything about mag and the benefits) but I feel magnesium is more of a balancer than anything. Your kidneys are in a delicate state if you can't get the fluid off of you properly (swelling in your legs). If I were you (which I know I am not  ) I would keep up your big jug of ReMag and ReMyte and add on the topical mag with it so your kidneys aren't overworked.....Just my two cents. let us know how your appt. goes!

Patricia,
Well, it cheered me so to get that fun hug and read your kind words,of love and healing! Thanx so much...

Janie,
Thanx for the reminder to run all my supplements by my Cardiologist...I have an appointment tomorrow with a Nurse Practioner form the Heart Failure Clinic to discuss all the things there is no time to talk over with the doctor....I can get some answers from her about the magnesium I'm sure. And thanx for the extra hugs...didn't realize you were a heart patient too so I know you understand!

Vanessa,
I hadn't focused on the kidneys as much as my heart even though I know they are struggling....so thanx for bringing that up. This morning I was thinking of the topical mag and that would help taking with not taking in too much fluid....and then you write and seem to confirm my idea! Love that when it happens! So serendipitous! Even though you aren't me, you think about me with healing, helpful thoughts and I surely do appreciate that!
