Jean,

I just watched a video by one of the authors of those books and I'm astounded! Why are the "experts" we've been listening to so DUMB? Everything we hear, and have been taught, is WRONG!!! I'm going to order one of the books to learn more. I've been "scared straight" off of saturated fats and worse, what I've always thought was "healthy eating", is what has made me so sick. That's hard to wrap your mind around but I'm trying. Thanks for recommending those books!

Please don't feel like the Lone Ranger. We've all had to relearn what's good for us and what's not.

But to show you how good mainstream medicine is at ignoring plain facts established by valid research, consider this abstract that was published 28 years ago. Did it prompt physicians to at least experiment with the proper diet recommendations rather than prescribing statins? Nope. Instead they advised patients not to eat fat which pretty much guaranteed that they would need to take statins. :roll:
Multiple food allergies required a group of seven patients with elevated serum cholesterol levels to follow a diet in which most of the calories came from beef fat. Their diets contained no sucrose, milk, or grains. They were given nutritional supplements. This is the only group of people in recent times to follow such a diet. During the study, the patients' triglyceride levels decreased from an average of 113 mg/dl to an average of 74 mg/dl; at the same time, their serum cholesterol levels fell from an average of 263 mg/dl to an average of 189 mg/dl. At the beginning of the study, six of the patients had an average high-density lipoprotein percentage of 21%. At the end of the study, the average had risen to 32%. These findings raise an interesting question: are elevated serum cholesterol levels caused in part not by eating animal fat (an extremely "old food"), but by some factor in grains, sucrose, or milk ("new foods") that interferes with cholesterol metabolism?
Reducing the serum cholesterol level with a diet high in animal fat.

That old Dutch saying, "Vee grow too soon oldt, und too late shmart. . . " definitely applies to health issues. :sigh:

Ye gods. They WANT us to stay sick. That's what I'm starting to think anyway. If we were well, they'd all be out of business. My GI doctor wouldn't even order the tests from EnteroLab. He kept saying "what if they (insurance) don't pay for it", and I kept repeating that I didn't care. He chickened out and tried to refer me to a doctor, who specializes in food allergies and sensitivities, and her first appointment was three months out. I threw up my hands in disgust and ordered the damned tests myself. It's up to me to get myself well at this point. I'm tired of feeling so awful all the time. The D is just the start of it...I can't stand the extreme exhaustion and brain fog anymore. It's getting really, really bad. When I first got sick I was still very active and on the ball. That is no longer true. Now I can hardly drag myself out of bed in the morning and muddle through the day feeling like hell. After eight years of this happy crappy I'm at the end of my strength...and my rope! Time for a whole new approach!!

Hi Lilja,

Returning to the breakfast:
The porridge is attractive, but I can't tolerate oats and mais. Maybe I can try it with rice flakes and buckwheat flakes?
I also eat a smoothy in the morning, but I make it with (homemade) amandelmilk, banana and other fruits.
Sometimes I switch to crackers, which I make myself from seeds. They are very tasty and easy to make.
If anyone is interested I can translate the recipe.
