Zink?

Post by Lilja »

Hi,

I have had loose stools for the last 3-4 weeks, and haven't been able to pinpoint what I have eaten or done wrong.

The other day I had to clean my refrigerator, and found an old bottle with zink-enriched water. I thought it was a shame to toss the little rest that was in the bottle, so I took 1 ts in a glass of water. The next day I had Normans and only two trips to the bathroom. I continued to take the rest, 1 ts every day, and the Normans continue with only 1 trip to the bathroom.

I googled zink, and among other articles I found this:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4231515/

Have some of you had the same experience?

Thanks, Lilja,

That's a very interesting article.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

THanks Lilja
great article.

I have Pyrrole (kryptopyrole) which I only confirmed aged 45. which is the root cause of serious zinc and B6 defency.
FIxing lifelong zinc and b6 deficiency has been a key part of my wellness, not just with gut. very likely I will be doing zinc supplementation for rest of my life. I do this under guidence of practitioner and regular blood tests to monitor levels, very much like we do for Vit D3 etc.

When I added ReMyte (has other minerals besides Zinc) to my ReMag water, things really improved consistency wise for me. I can't pinpoint just one thing that helped though. I had slowly integrated about 3 new "things" and Norman seemed to visit overnight.

I am under major amounts of stress and anxiety about my upcoming trip. Panic attacks and all. These are old hat to me although they haven't visited in awhile. Before, this would have stopped me eating and sleeping. Not this time! I'm upping my mag and taking the waves as they come. Still sleeping and eating. And Norman is sticking around. It's good to have your minerals loaded up when life and stress start to test you!

Thank you, Gabes.
I had my kryptopyrole level checked in 2013, and it was 9,2 (should be less than 10), and was put on 25 mg zink morning and 50 mg zink in the evening, and 50 mg P5P, together with a B Complex tablet and B12 injections. I did take zink and P5P for a year or so, but for whatever reason I stopped. (Instead I started a combination of B6, B9 and B12, matching Tex' Metanx tablets, but no zink).

I will continue with the liquid zink, and hopefully the improvement will follow.
