Budosenide

Post by HockeyMom »

Well, the biopsies showed collagenous colitis. Was never specified cc vs lc when I was told MC in 2011. Dr wants to do 9mg budosenide a day for a month, then drop from there for another month depending on symptoms. I asked if this was standard as I've been told that stringing it out longer seems to work better. All based on symptoms was her answer.

I did this protocol initially in fall 2011. Changed diet, did heavy probiotics and glutamine at the same time. Haven't been on it since. I asked about taking it plus taking the cholestyramine additionally. Her answer was cut a dose of cholestyramine out if needed. Dang, I really don't want to do that and will time the budosenide around my 2x daily cholestyramine.

Thoughts here people??? I had a relatively good weekend with solid poop last night/didn't poop for 30 whole hours (that was with 2 immodiums also...). But had less than solid poop this am and was more rumbly grumbly this am up till like noon. I'm not pooping 20 times a day anymore but am coming up on 4 weeks of the Sandoz stuff this Thursday.

I need to get functional and get out of this house and get a life of some sort. I haven't received any of my short term disability benefits money (so I haven't been paid in a month) as the intermediary company screwed up and cancelled the initial claim and we had to redo it. I have actually had to make numerous phone calls to different people to try and get this handled. It's insane and of course adds to the stress of everything. Nothing can be simple...
