My eye results!

Post by jlbattin »

Just wanted to give you an update about my two eye surgeries. Feeling thankful, blessed, grateful, and a myriad of other emotions. Went to the eye doctor to have my eyes checked late Thursday afternoon. Without corrective lenses, my left eye was 20/50 (only because I missed one letter on the 40 line) and my right eye was 20/30 (which is 10 better than when my surgeon released me). I was able to get to 20/20 with corrective lenses. What a relief! God is good all the time. I couldn't even read the eye chart back in March! Considering there are no guarantees with macular hole surgery, I consider myself very fortunate! Can't wait to get my new glasses.

I also want to add that going through both of these surgeries as well as the last one I had done with an autoimmune disease is tough. You don't recover as quickly or heal as quickly and I truly wondered if my eyes would ever be ok. There is light at the end of the tunnel once you are stable!

Thanks for the update. I agree — sight is truly precious. The inflammation associated with this disease definitely has a negative effect on our eyes for many/most of us.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
