Donating to MC Foundation

Post by sunny »

I switched the recipient of my Amazon purchases donations to our own MC foundation a while ago and up to August had donated $200 ....I was surprised because it was painless giving!
If you use Amazon and aren't aware of their facilitating donations to groups you choose, go to the Amazon website and learn more...it's a painless way to give to charities....I rotate among 3 charities...4 months worth of purchases for each .....
Check it out!

Hey Sunny,

What a great tip ~ I use Amazon all the time. Can you tell me how to find the link to do this? I have a Prime membership and am checking all the drop down menus but not finding anything.

Thank you!

You have to sign in using Amazon Smile. You get to pick your charity or whatever during original sign up. If you forget and sign into Amazon direct, you purchase won't count. I almost never forget now to go through Smile.

I just checked mine and it says $216 donated as of August 2017, and $6 since November 2017....I sure hope Tex is actually getting these funds.

I use smile every time I order from Amazon. If only I can get my son to remember to go on the smile first as he orders much more than I do. I love that the foundation is getting a percentage of my orders. I even have my co-workers going on smile when they order things for work.

We have some folks really struggling with this disease. Every donation helps be it purchasing through Smile.Amazon or making a year end donation directly on the Foundation website. Our foundation is the only foundation whose mission is to help folks with MC. Our board members are unpaid volunteers who are also stricken with MC.

Today I logged onto Amazon to order. I had the items in my cart when I remembered about Amazon Smile. I opened a new window and logged into Amazon Smile. Those two items were in the Smile cart. I finalized my order there. When it was completed, it said I had donated to my charity.

Maybe if you log onto Smile before the order is completed, you can still get credit for your purchase.

Thank you for mentioning this, Sunny. I placed an order today through Amazon Smile, and chose Microscopic Colitis Foundation to receive donations from my purchases. And, also a thank you to Erica for posting the link.

Hi Pam... you know how they say you can't see for looking? Well, as an example....look at the bottom of this page when you write a message and then hit the submit button...look about 4-5 inches and there's a big block that says support the MC foundation and a like to,smile.amazon.com....
So easy to link to.....

I wonder if that amount isn't the total that's been donated. Mine also says $216.50 through August with my donations $16.23. If that's the case we need a lot more people to sign up. It really is a simple way to help. Deb

If I recall correctly, the amount donated is one-half of one percent (0.5 % or 0.005 times the amount of the purchase).

IOW, to put it into perspective, if you purchase $100.00 worth, they will donate $0.50 to the MCF.

You can also make a donation here:

https://www.microscopiccolitisfoundatio ... -help.html

It is very easy to set up an automatic monthly donation!

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I feel a bit guilty because I have not checked in very often....

Love, Patricia
