Clemmie,

I can't advise you on ppi withdrawal. I used to take nexium daily. I switched to a very low carb diet and the heartburn went away and I simply stopped taking Nexium without any of the rebound others talk about but I know that this is just my experience although there is certainly a lot of anecdotal evidence for the effects of low carb diets on Gerd.

Are you staying hydrated? To help combat the dizziness it might help to add a bit of salt to your water. Bone broth can help in this regard too if you can tolerate it. I also experienced daily nausea for a long time. Now it is a non-issue since I cleaned up my diet.

I don't really suffer from the symptoms of GERD, I was taking nexium because it stopped my hiatus hernia from sliding up into my chest. I've been on a low carb diet now for months and that hasn't made any difference to my symptoms and I'm sure that it's the hiatus hernia because I can feel it pressing right in the middle of my breastbone when I bend over. Most uncomfortable!
