I am now working as an assistant at my functional chiropractor (the practitioners that been been awesome support to me for past two years getting wellness ) At our team meeting each month we look at published research studies etc. This week it was about benefit of chiropractic treatment via subluxation for heart rate variability issues.
given some recent posts (LauraAnn comes to mind) i thought i would share this info.
long story short, inflammation in the body impacts nervous system health. this then has impact on heart rate. not bad enough that mainstream testing considers it a health issue, but for some it is noticeable and impacting on some activities.
some recent studies show that there is improvement with heart rate after just one treatment.
A small number of controlled studies suggest that spinal manipulation may alter heart rate variability. Case reports suggest that favorable changes in heart rate variability may follow reduction or correction of vertebral subluxations. Higher quality studies of larger populations should be conducted. It is biologically plausible that the changes in autonomic nervous system function following reduction or correction of vertebral subluxation may be objectively assessed using heart rate variability.

I'm so happy for you Gabes, I believe in chiropractic treatment (and not the heavy handed kind where people leave in more pain than when they arrived).....I've had to have some of it as I aged, a little to keep scoliosis from starting, a little to relieve migraines...I think I grew at such a rapid pace that my twiggy body kept getting out of whack.
Now at age 50 I have watched my previous chiro practices (and he has passed away already) and I use his methods at home an on myself and my husband....I've kept our kids and ourselves 'in-line' for many years now, and saved thousands of dollars!! Sometimes it doesn't take much to ease pain and I truly believe the heart can over work itself when the body is not align with itself.
So glad that you are living life at a better junction now.

This is very interesting. This is also the second time in a week that this subject has come up to me. A friend who has debilitating arthritis has started going for chiropractic treatments and is pleased so far. After her third treatment, she noticed improvements. She also watches her diet closely (like us). She discovered this option from a another friend who has an AI disease (can't remember which one, but it is similar to MS) and is feeling better also.
I going to think about this for myself. But I'll need to do some looking around to see who here is doing good work. My friends mentioned above live in Albuquerque, which is a long 4 hour drive through the desert from me!

really good that this topic is being discussed by others...
I just did a quick google search 'functional chiropractor El paso' and there are a few options.
my suggestion is lean towards a 'functional' chiropractor, they will be more knowledgeable in this approach for all body wellness

Interesting Gabes! I've been reading up on Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and find that I do have some traits in common with it-- thankfully on the milder side, but especially low blood pressure, gerd, dizziness, and heart rate variability. I'll have to dig in further.
Thanks
