Antibiotics - this winter's flu season

Post by Cat »

Hi All,

Last year I had to take antibiotics for a serious bronchial infection. Of course, I speculate whether that contributed to the onset of MC.

I'd like to know how you all deal with (or how you WILL deal with) any flu, bronchitis, etc., this winter, if NOT taking antiinflamatories or antibiotics is not your remedy (because MC doesn't like either of these things).

I'm reluctant to put so much as a Tylenol in my system now. The thought of having a fever or, worse, a true vital infection, bronchial infection, etc. - that would (normally) be treated with aspirin, Advil, antibiotics .... - I'm concerned about what to do about these situations and thought you might have experience, etc.

What do people who have surgery (and need antibiotics) do, if they have MC?

Thank you,

Cathie

the best way to protect against flu / colds / infections is increase things like Vit D3, Vit C and zinc
all of which support the immune system to do its thing!

Keep your vitamin D blood level in the 40–80 range. Your immune system cannot operate properly without adequate vitamin D. Avoid crowds if possible and wash your hands after being around other people.

When you have to have surgery, you do what you have to do and hope for the best.

At least that's what I do.

Hi Cathie,

I just finished a three week antibiotic treatment because of lyme disease and I had no serious problems with it. I took probiotic in the evening, was very strict with my diet and lifestyle.
Evry year a get the anti-flu injection and that works well. In the past, when I was on budesonine, I was constantly ill, but since I stopped and follow a strict diet with the right supplements, like Vit D and Magnesium, I am very rarely ill. I know this is the case for a lot of members.
