Probiotics?

Post by Mrs. Poopy Jeans »

My, it’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I’m really in a pickle and need help.

I was diagnosed with MC-L and things were pretty well (in hindsight).i had an urge, went to the toilet and pooped, even though it was D. Still I made it to the toilet. Now I have developed complete awful fecal incontenence so bad that I can hardly leave my house. I don’t know what to do. Maybe I need a high powered probiotic? Doctors appt in two weeks. Hope to get some answers. This is not living!

if your issues are totally MC related, then no. Experience by many here is that when we are super inflammed, probiotics do more harm than good.
one reason for this is that pro-biotics tend to be high histamine items and increase in histamine is increase in inflammation.

my suggestion - go back to bland, low amount of ingredients eating plan, minimal fibre, (along the lines of the stage one healing eating plan) increase Vit D3 and magnesium.

You can find numerous sites about probiotics that increase histamine and those that lower histamine. Research continues. I do fine with a probiotic but whether it actually helps or not is an unknown. When inflamed, I'd be cautious and like Gabes says, keep the eating plan bland, minimal fiber and increase D3 and magnesium.

Thanks Gabes & Susan. Simple diet, no probiotics. I need to revamp my eating plan and get healthier.
