Does Lymphocytic Microscopic colitisGenerate these Symptoms?
Hi at all
Sorry for my english!
after a colonoscopy and some biopsies! I have been diagnosed lymphocytic mc! I would like to ask you some things:
if I eat carbohydrates like pasta bread potatos rice corn So amid I have flatulence problems either not a gas field! this is worth it though I eat honey fruit so sugar things and if I eat vegetables and dried fruits the same proboem, then i do not have much to eat!
2 other symptoms are a mucus that is a yellow glue first stools, and darker than brown liquid like caramel sugar and a smeel of rotting ! I have no diarrhea but I have constipation and stools over the mucus have small gas bubbles! I did not start the budenoside care because I have a rectal intussusception and I would like to understand if the cause of these disorders and the mechanical problem or the colitis then 2 things separate between them?
you have these symptoms or are the only one and are not symptoms of lymphocytic colitis
Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. Your English is better than my Italian. Yes, those are symptoms of lymphocytic colitis (LC). Many physicians do not realize that LC does not always cause diarrhea. It can also cause constipation for some people. Do not take budesonide if you do not have diarrhea, because it will cause constipation if you do not have diarrhea.
The main problem is not so much carbohydrates as gluten. We react to wheat products. They cause inflammation in our intestines. So we have to avoid all foods made with wheat.
The mucus means that your intestines are inflamed.
Again, welcome to the forum. We will try to help in any way we can.

thanks tex and all over the forum. I have negative blood tests on gluten taken many times. negative grain tests I did not make biopsy unfortunately for gluten! but if I eat products without gluten, especially corn rice and soya produce gas as 10 people !! I'm afraid I can not digest or the decomposing the Starches and make fermentation into intestine and colon! And gluten-free products make me worse! I thought I had the Sibo! But Tex three different GI doctors told me to do the budesonide therapy! I know people who with the budesonide have more swelling than others no effect. but if the rice swells my corn swelling potato swells me and are good foods for celiac disease because instead of me doing gas then not good?
And is mucus produced by lymphocytic cells? and why does this smell put it up?
So can you reccomend me?

The smell is due to poor digestion because of inflammation, and the inflammation is caused by gluten, dairy products and maybe soy. Your doctors are wrong. If you think they are right, why are you here? We come here because our doctors don't know how to treat microscopic colitis. We have to treat ourselves.
Everyone who has microscopic colitis is sensitive to gluten. The blood tests used by doctors to detect gluten sensitivity are worthless for microscopic colitis patients. They cannot detect non-celiac gluten sensitivity.
The mucus is produced by your intestines as they try to protect themselves from the gluten. The swelling is caused by gluten.
You will have to avoid gluten completely, if you want to stop the inflammation in your intestines. We all have to avoid gluten.

The article in this post explains why the mainstream medicine gluten tests are not reliable - not 100% accurate to all aspects of gluten causing inflammation

I welcome you, too. You've come to the right place. As you will read on this forum, most doctors don't understand nutrition and microscopic colitis. They haven't been trained in nutrition.
Follow the Stage One Diet, on this forum, and be patient. It takes time.
At first, it seems very hard, but it does become much easier. I learned that I cannot eat gluten, diary, soy or eggs. I thought my life would never be the same. While my life isn't the same as before, I have adjusted to my diet and am happy. I have learned to cook good meals at home and can eat at some restaurants without consuming gluten, dairy, soy or eggs. I've read that Italy is one of the best countries to travel to for gluten allergy or gluten sensitivities.

thank you all for your attention and answers!
I would like to understand why if I eat rice or potatoes or corn or gluten-free foods and soy
I produce 100 times more gas ???
if the problem is guten why I have this provlem with free gluten foods?
this happens equally with fruit especially grapes and apples! it looks like starch and sugar fructose sucrose fodmap foods are my biggest problem! Avoid almost all dairy products for intestinal swelling like milk yogurt etc! in truth I avoided almost all the fruits and many vegetables for the production of gas even at night and daily!
a question by doing an agroscopy and biopsy can fail but having a sensitivity?

Yes, we have to avoid most fruit and many vegetables, especially if they are not well-cooked. We have to avoid sugar and fiber. I realize that you want us to explain the exact reasons for your symptoms, but microscopic colitis is a very complex disease and the gluten sensitivity that goes with it is a complex relationship. It can all be explained, but since I had a stroke last spring, it's very difficult for me to write long, detailed answers. Typing is not easy for me any more. And the language barrier makes explanations more difficult. So I don't feel like writing a long, detailed answer that you may not be able to understand, anyway. Here are your basic options:
You can continue to do what you are doing now, or whatever you want to do. And you will probably continue to be sick.
You can do whatever your doctors suggest. And you will probably continue to be sick, because your doctors have already shown you that they don't know how to treat microscopic colitis. They only know how to diagnose it.
You can do what we are doing, and what we suggest you should try. And you might stop being sick. We cannot guarantee that what we do will work for you, we can only point out what worked for us and what did not work. If you do what we are doing, you may be able to control this disease, like most of us. If you refuse to do what we suggest, then you will probably continue to be sick.

Early on "gluten free" processed foods can be problematic, i.e. cause gas.
Stick with a lot of protein early on.
As your gut heals.....most of us can digest rice or potatoes without a lot of gas.
When we are first diagnosed almost everything causes gas. After we heal the as goes away with some of the foods that were problematic at first.
Protein generally does not cause gas at the beginning.

Ares,
I could not eat grapes and apples when I was first diagnosed.
Now that I have healed I can eat grapes and apples.
Fruit should be avoided early on until after healing occurs.
Diet early on should be A LOT OF PROTEIN. Some overcooked veggies, NOTHING RAW. NO DAIRY. Some rice or potatoes--whichever causes less gas. A little bit of fat or oils like olive oil. This is a good healing diet.
After you heal you can retry things likes grapes and apples.
Gabes has good info on stage 1 and stage 2 diet that I can't find right now.
