I found this fairly recent article interesting. Forgive me if it's already been posted.

Notice in the chart listing the impact of drugs that one of the supplements having a high likelihood to cause microscopic colitis is Ranitidine or Zantac. One set of doctors reputed to be able to treat MC prescribed a high dose of Zantac for me. Once I reached that high dosage, I began having cramps and worse MC symptoms. Of course, the Doctors said it couldn't have been the Zantac. I never went back to them and never took Zantac again.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
