GiltGal,

17 years ago, when all my symptoms began, I had to use a cane to get around, my knees were so arthritic. My fingers were beginning to grow crooked and twisted from the arthritis inflammation in my finger and hand joints. After eliminating gluten and the other food sensitivities from my diet, the arthritis disappeared. The only time it has returned was a few years ago when my diet became cross-contaminated. Tracking down the problem and eliminating it resolved the problem. No problems since. These days, unless I overdo it and strain a muscle or two, or accidentally become "glutened", I never have any aches or pains.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
