400 mg. per day results?

Post by Alicegf »

Hello,

Has anyone had a similar experience: I started taking 400 mg. magnesium citrate daily about 2 months ago. I wasn"t expecting this to happen, but since then my chronic low back pain due to arthritis, degenerative breakdown and osteopenia has simply disappeared! Could magnesium be the reason? I've changed nothing else in my diet, physical exercise, or mental state. If this is true (that magnesium supplementation could be the cause ) I am floored! It would be too good to be true.

not too good to be true..

the magnesium helps to reduce joint pain from inflammation, clear toxins causing the inflammation, and allows your body to utilise Vit D3 as well to also manage the inflammatin and build bone strength.

that is why we 'constantly' recommend Vit d3 and magnesium as the key supplements.

this contains lots of posts, links explaining why magnesium is so important.

Thanks so much for responding, Gabes! I did look at the post with the links, but didn't see anything specifically about spinal pain, although it could have been there and I missed it.

But "joint pain", as you mentioned, is in the same category. I tried taking 500 mg. M daily, but got diarrhea soon after; not sure if that was coincidence or true cause and effect. I really don't want to try that experiment again, so I will soon get some topical form to try. I also take a fairly large dose vit D daily.

with the 500mg per day, did you spread this out over the day, ie some with breakfast, some with lunch, some with dinner??

using oral along with topical is fanastic way to resolve magnesium deficiency.

the reason for hte improvement in spine pain is due to magnesium helping the nervous system.

“The 2013 study below found that a 2-week intravenous magnesium infusion followed by 4 weeks of oral magnesium supplementation can reduce pain intensity and improve spine mobility during a 6-month period in patients with chronic low back pain with a nerve pain component.”

Hi Alice,

Glad it helped — that's why we keep promoting it. Too much magnesium (especially magnesium citrate or magnesium oxide) acts as a laxative. Frankly, I'm kind of surprised that 400 mg of magnesium citrate doesn't cause some diarrhea, but apparently that must be below your threshold for causing diarrhea.

Magnesium gives pretty amazing results sometimes. If everyone used it regularly, most doctors wouldn't stay near as busy. It's better than an apple a day, in my opinion.

Thanks for posting those impressive results.
