That’s great news! It’s amazing what they’re now able to do on an out patient basis! One giant step at a time and you’ll soon be on the road to recovery.
Here are amazon links to 2 ”radiation” creams, the first is plain calendula cream recommended by my naturopath, and the 2nd, a calendula based cream recommended by my radiation oncologist. At the facility they had big bowls of free samples at the check-out desk. The blended cream is much nicer—even as a regular moisturizer—but also way spendier, so the free samples were nice supplements. I used lots and lots of each—for a month before, and months afterwards. (My radiation was delayed a few months because of a post-surgical breast hematoma and a large armpit seroma from the lymph node removal. I was told these were relatively rare complications, however it doesn’t hurt to be aware of these possibilities).

PS—Is Tylenol 3 the kind mixed with hydrocodone? If so, be careful! Of course everyone reacts differently, but I tried one the first night. I got up to pee, and next thing I knew I was on the floor with my husband peering over me and an unbelievably sore butt and back. I was lucky not to have broken my hip or cracked my spine. Diverted my attention from the surgical pain though.
) And I needn’t have worried about hospital food......it will be DAY surgery! So home with a dressing and drain, a binder of instructions/care/exercises, free home visits as needed, and absorbable sutures. I will take Tylenol 3s as suggested since they shouldn’t affect my LC.
