Flu

Post by Marcia K »

I work in long-term care and the flu has been going throughout the facility. I normally dodge the bullet but it got me this time. I am feeling better than I was - D3, magnesium, zinc and bone broth seems to have helped. I'm reading that the effects can last 2-3 weeks. Not looking forward to that!

Oh gee Marcia, this sure has been a rough season of virus.

Sounds like you are doing all you can....it takes time, like my cold it slows a body down to a mere crawl. Rest and liquids.....

I wish you a speedy healed return soon. Really hate how these viruses make us feel.

Thanks, Erica. I hope you feel better soon, too! Spring can't come soon enough!

Sorry the flu caught up with you Marcia. You have high-risk work. I'm lucky — I live on a farm out in the country with no one else around most of the time. I've been laying low, trying to avoid it if possible. I only go into town once every two weeks to get groceries.

One of my brothers had the flu a few weeks ago. It didn't seem to last unusually long, but some of the symptoms (such as coughing, headaches, etc.) weren't in any hurry to leave.

They keep harping on the number of fatalities on TV (although the numbers don't seem to be unusually high). I can't help but wonder if most of those unfortunate individuals were taking immune system suppressants. We'll never know, because the CDC is never going to allow the release of information such as that. I hope you recover sooner than average.

Thanks, Tex. I am feeling a lot better but the cough is hanging on. I'm going to start a post to ask for suggestions on how to treat it. Luckily the headache isn't lingering because that was the worst thing for me. I received an email that several more residents & staff members now have it...I really don't want to go back to work! And as you can imagine there was a big push for everyone to get the vaccine this year which doesn't seem to be helping at all. You're fortunate to be living away from the mainstream germs!
