Reflexology

Post by Marcia K »

Hello. Does anyone go to a reflexologist? I went on Saturday because I felt so badly from the flu. I really liked it and it seemed to help a little with the cough. I told her not to touch the colon or intestines area because I didn't want her to stir anything up. She started going there a few times but stopped herself. She said that she didn't think it would hurt anything. I didn't want to take any chances and I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with reflexology. I think I'm going to go again for the cough/lung area.

I have used Acupuncture / Applied Kinesiology which both use Reflexology principles namely meridians that a pressure point somewhere on the body can be a treatment point for an internal organ.

Most definately it helps body lower inflammation / heal / optimises communication or balances things across all the organs/systems in the body.

My current functional practitioners use the meridian principles ALOT.
when I am doing my epsom salt foot soaks, i put finger pressure on key points that i want to support/activate while my feet are relaxing in the epsom salts...

My 85 year mother had a bad fall just before Christmas. She has become interested in reflexology and i got her some second hand reflexology texts books from Ebay and she is using various pressure points.

I have a reflexology book, and I am not perfect doing it, but I will rub my feet and my husbands occasionally. I probably don't do it enough to notice immediate results but I do believe in it, and I don't think I'd worry about my colon/intestine during a foot rub, it may actually relieve inflammation and that would be a good thing

If you think about it, we walk on our feet with comfortable or not as comfortable shoes everyday...some of that could be potentially un-nerving for our colon/intestine too..so a massage shouldn't hurt it.

Just my take on it.....

Thanks, Gabes & Erica. When I go again I'll let her do whatever she wants to do. I really liked it and felt like it helped. My diaphragm was sore from coughing and she said that it felt "crunchy" when she pressed on that area on my feet.
