Hi Janie,

Apparently your immune system is using a lot of vitamin D to fight inflammation. If it were me, I wouldn't reduce the dose of vitamin D. Increasing it might be helpful. The "B" results beg the question "are you feeling any over-methylation symptoms?" It's possible to be over-methylated. Here's a quote from pages 154–155 of Understanding Microscopic Colitis:
Symptoms of over-methylation may include head or neck pain, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, depression, paranoia and a tendency to ponder on thoughts. Over-methylated people have elevated levels of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, and a low histamine level in their blood They tend to be very creative, but they may overreact to common situations in life. Over-methylated individuals also tend to have many food sensitivities, but they are not as likely to react to seasonal allergies.

If you suspect over-methylation, it may help to reduce or stop taking methylating supplements, at least for a while. Some authorities suggest that taking 50 mg time-release capsules of niacin may help if the over-methylation is caused by taking methyl “B” vitamins
.

If that doesn't sound like you, then you are probably not over-methylated.

Your C/Z ratio (CZ ratio or CZr) looks good. It's close to 1 — normally it shouldn't be a problem unless it exceeds 2.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Don't forget to include a good dose of Elemental magnesium in there with that larger dose of VitD3.....since they both need one another to increase the VitD levels in the body

I had to take 10,000 VitD3 plus my 500-600 Elemental Mag (be it internal and external or both) in order to get my levels from a 45 to an 83 now...but they were as low as 9 way back in 2008. Things are healing much nicer with the higher VitD levels.

I will up my Vit. D to 10,000 for awhile until I get another lab draw. I take 600 mg. of Drs. Best magnesium. I may be over methylated. I will stop for awhile.
Thanks Erica and Tex.
Tex I bought your 2nd MC book but haven't gotten to that chapter on methylation yet. My husband read your first book to understand what I am up against. He was impressed on the knowledge and research you have done.
