Hi Gena,

Personally, I would be afraid to use them. Opioids are safe (as far as triggering MC is concerned), but of course there's the risk of addiction and constipation/impaction. I have no idea what the policy of most hospitals on opioids is going to be in the future. They're probably under a lot of government pressure to minimize their use. Tramidol is also MC-safe, but it's probably going to be considered to be an opioid.

I apologize, but I don't have any personal experience with the use of NSAIDs since the onset of my MC, so I can't answer your question. Maybe someone else can offer some insight.

I broke my wrist during the early years of my disease (when I was still reacting). The epidural used by the ER doc wasn't at all effective against the pain, and for some reason I knew that it wouldn't work in advance. The ER doc just laughed when I told him that it wouldn't work, but he stopped laughing when he ordered a second injection and it didn't work either.

I took a prescription dose of Advil for 30 days last June. I had my shoulder replaced and that surgeon wanted me to take it to minimize inflammation. I didn't have problems MC-wise. I had to take a PPI with it because I have had weight loss surgery. My stomach is the shape and size of a banana. YMMV

After my breast cancer surgery (lumpectomy), I took Tylenol with codeine. It did not exacerbate my MC. I used it maybe 4 or 5 days after each of the two surgeries.

no.
your body (and digestion) will have increased inflammation from anesthetic and other medications etc used during the procedure.
i would avoid MC known triggers as much as possible.
