Gelatin/bone broth
Hi all!
Five plus years into my healing journey.....couldn’t do bone broth until recently, (homemade turkey broth) and have been sticking to my Enterolab initial report stating that I reacted to beef and chicken and pork.
Finding clean gelatin (not beef, pork, or chicken) to use as egg substitutes or jello for the benefits of joint health and digestion is very difficult.....I could try marine gelatin, but want to try beef because it’s cheaper.
Do you think I would have a problem with beef gelatin for egg substitutes, or jello?
How many of you have added foods successfully back into your diet that you were reacting to long ago?
Thanks for your input!

Beef never caused diarrhea for me but it did cause bloating and upper body aches and pain (in my back and shoulders). The C1 test panel wasn't available back then, so I never did the EnteroLab test. Unfortunately, even though I have been in remission for 14 years now, I still get the shoulder and back aches and pains if I eat beef. They're bad enough that I still avoid beef. YMMV.
On the other hand, I did add corn back into my diet many years ago, and it's still OK.
I added dairy back into my diet early on, and it causes no noticeable digestive symptoms, but I had to remove it again after about a year because it began to cause osteoarthritis symptoms, and that was verified by an EnteroLab test that showed that I was producing antibodies to casein.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Maybe I was wrong initially when I decided that I was sensitive to corn. Maybe I didn't need to avoid it after all. I've since added a sensitivity. Early on, I tested negative to soy at EnteroLab. After a few years I began to test positive.

Hi
Concerning bone broth and gelatin. I am using Great Lakes hydrolized. Made from grass fed cows. I'm not aware of any benefit so far. How much should I be taking? And has anyone anything to say about the bone broth diet of Dr Kellyann Petrucci? Her shakes have collagen and inulin. Inulin is not my friend.
Thx

Gabes....so, you did have to avoid beef early on and now you can tolerate grass fed clean beef?
Persevere.....what I’ve noticed is that it takes a long time for me to see the results of anything I try...for example I’ve been drinking tumeric tea every morning for 5 months. It took almost four months to feel the effects of it.
I don’t know if I have a slower metabolism, but I have to be very patient with everything that I try!
