current day blood tests for magnesium are not best indicators.
Tex has written about this in his books (which you have) and also the other book I suggested to you (available in italian)

Very common for MC patients to have OK blood tests but be in major flare. MC inflammation is not same as other IBD inflammation

I too have had C dominant MC - which resolved when i fixed magnesium deficiency.

you will know if food is good if you have minimal symptoms, no fatigue, no gas, no discomfort in stomach, no histamine symptoms, better bowel motions.

Hi, I have certain high values ​​for the high-protein kidney diet is normal? Do I have to change something ?! Is it too early to try to eat rice or potatoes? the biggest problem remains the food with histamine. because acne does not go away on the forehead! Hi Ares, I also have constipation with my Lymphocytic colitis. Constipation is a sign of inflammation too. Eating fiber and raw vegetables will not help. It will only irritate the inflamed colon. Eat soft over-cooked vegetables that are not likely to cause gas (no broccoli, no Brussels sprouts). Easy to digest foods are best. I was able to eat rice and potatoes while I was recovering. Like Gabes said you will know based on how you feel after you eat them.

Use a stool softener if needed and supplementing with magnesium will help too. I find that walking or yoga is the best exercise when constipated.
Just know that there are some of us who have constipation instead of diarrhea as part of our LC. You are not alone.

thanks for the support also this give me a help ! the problem is that after a 1 or 2 days every thing I introduce creates gas because of the fermentation of the food of the previous days! I tried different products to make the stool soft! but one swells me more and creates a lot of gas like psyllum or osmotic laxatives or others where ingested makes me a headache! the times I eat rice or better more than a month ago or potatoes I produce gas and the rice a little constipates me! my problem I think this constipation because when I go regular I have less gas and I feel better! I know it can be a foregone phrase, but I would like to find something for breakfast to be more energetic and even fuller in the intestine to have perhaps a greater incentive to go to the bathroom!

For the constipation, have you started any of the suggestions I gave you more than 2 weeks ago in the other discussion

less constipation - magnesium and right eating plan will help with this
increase water intake
have some safe oils, coconut oil etc
animal proteins with natural fats will also help

as you said above, fix the constipation the fermentation will reduce, gas will reduce and then you will have better idea of what foods work best for you.

Hi gabes I have cholesterol blood test 370 (range is 200)and I’ m skinny
And Is reccomanded to dont eat fat animal
Coconut oil for who have problem histamine is not reccommend
When I drink much I go to bath many times to do urine but costipation don t change( also if tou have reason to drink mich do well always)

I take magnesium breakfast lunch and dinner ( before) total 675 mg

Value test bloodvitamin b 12 ok, magnesium ok , vitamin D is enough.

If I eat much Is like if more food more sto.... and I go bath

But I have bad value for iperprotein diet

Now my stomach scream because I have take only 2 coffee and it is hungry

HI Ares,

As I am following along in your conversations one thing stands out.....Don't overthink everything, you are getting lost in thinking up too many ideas that your symptoms may be telling you.

You speak of fermentation many times.....this is a clue, so how about taking some Betaine HCL (you may not have enough acid in your stomach) to help break down your food so it does not ferment? We don't have hydrochloric acid in our intestines, our food gets diluted by enzymes as soon as it enters into the small intestine.

As soon as the food enters the intestines Bacteria start in to help break the food down even more. If you do not have enough proper bacteria (which I feel a lot of us do not when we have gotten to this colitis stage) I feel you get the symptoms of gas, bloating, and constipation/(diarrhea for some of us) as you are describing. A good bacteria to try would be Saccharomyces Boulardii. I noticed a difference right away in how my gut responded to this in how it was breaking down my food. I am taking the Betaine HCL and the Saccharomyces Boulardii too.

Also if you are still getting any Gluten or Dairy in your diet it will cause gas and bloating, as will too much sugar because we do not have the correct bacteria for breaking down sugars while we have active colitis, and then we may not even be able to have much sugar even after they have healed. Small serves is best approach to sugar.

You have gotten many great ideas already....

Stick to simple, plain, minimal ingredient food.

Protein - pick one (pork, seafood, beef) without any additives, only sea salt, and cook it in Coconut oil or Grapeseed oil - don't worry about the cholesterol level right now.

Over cook vegetable - pick one, (yellow or red potatoes, artichoke, carrot) steam it, and use sea salt

Gluten free pasta/white rice - a Canadian brand of gluten free pasta is Tikiyada or perhaps there is a brand in your country that is local to use, eat either of these with your overcooked vegetable.

Water, Coffee - use minimal sugar if you need to flavor it

Magnesium and VitD3 - you have to be the judge how much Magnesium (at minimum 300-400mg during a day), but you need it because it will eventually help with your constipation. VitD3 at minimum 4000-5000IU, because it works with the Magnesium, they need to be taken daily.

Antihistamine - I am not sure what choices you have to choose from, but find an antihistamine that you trust and take it every day - don't over think this, just do it. We all seem to need this for a while, it took me over 2 years of taking it daily to finally not need to rely on it so much, but I feel that is because I have implemented all the diet changes given at this forum, and now my intestines are at a healed point that histamine has backed way down for me.

Walk some - moving around is good

NO FIBER - this means no psyllium husk or pectin or beans, or skin of any vegetable or fruit, this scraps our intestines and will continue the inflammation of the walls of the intestines.

You may have to eat these basic ingredients for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and any snacks, for many days in order to get some healing on the intestines. When the stomach screams - feed it meat at any time.

I understand you are just trying to figure this all out like we all are doing, and I certainly wish you success. Take it slow, think about what some of us have tried to say, implement what you can and add to it when you can. This is a process, it takes time....you will see improvement in baby steps.

there is more benefit in the animal protein to your digestion and health right now than the small impact to cholesterol.

cholesterol will be the last of your worries if you dont get digestion issues resolved.

I agree with erica, stop overthinking, stop with the excuses. Either embrace and actually do what we are suggesting or continue to suffer.

I thank you for the patience and the words of comfort and the advice you give me! I suffer from 20 years of migraine I took all the existing medicines I miss eating live insects and voodoo and I did everything! I lost weight immediately and I recovered weight doing the therapies but as I quit I lost all the weight in a month! I had problems with colitis since childhood, constipation and rare cases of diarrhea and gas, but I realized that the world is not only divides in good and bad but in those who have a good digestion and who does not have it like me! in the last 6 years the problem of colitis called generically Ibs has become a production of gas and mucus (to have gas all day) in the same period I had reflux problems I have a GERD at the 2nd stage! I thought to have a lack of chloridic acid but here we do not consider betaine HCl! even in America I know that it takes a doctor and exams and can often create burning and not always by real results! I had a bad period that I cured with apple vinegar and a bit of pantopranzolo, if I had acid deficiency I would not digest the meat and actually I think I digest it and it is the most challenging thing to send fiu in case of lack of HCl! but the problem of gas and mucus did not go away! I thought it was caused by Sibo for antibiotics taken in the past or for trips to non-hygienic places (like Africa)! as I realized that sugars like fructose and other things caused me to produce gas at the moment! and I understood that it causes me very lamid! I tried to eat only food without glitines and I have gas three times more! I drank a cup of soya milk. It was ocme berbi a hot air balloon from the gass product! I did the biopsy exams I did not count the lymphocytes but I have diagnosed the lymphocyte colitis! I searched the internet and found the forum! the problem is not simple because: for years I took a medicine for the headache that chima flunarizina has an antihistamine component and I did not know about this, but after years and years the doctors told me to stop taking it, the question is complex because it makes me feel good and gives me strength, without this I'm skinny and now I have weakness and acne! I made a dermatological examination according to a doctor my problem and feeding according to another doctor is not food, and it is possible that I have suffered from allergies but I was covered by the therapy of headache! so I find myself without therapy for the headache with the thin and weak lymphocyte colitis and without being able to eat foods like pasta, dairy products and fruit that I have taken in recent times for gas! my need and double or triple reduce headache reduce gas and mucus (unpleasant odor) and take weight! believe me the headache and like the jupiter plants compared to colitis which is mercury! both, however, limit personal and social life and work! now I do not know if everything is caused by a histone or colitis or what? but I would like to take weight! Ps qundo I was doing physical activity in recent years if I strained too much headache and I read that those suffering from histamine has tried to do physical activity! unfortunately for me I'm afraid to eat potatoes and pasta without gluten (usually made of corn and rice) because they make me gas! but where can I get a little mass x get out of this zombie look?

whether it is histamine or colitis or what doesnt matter - it is all linked to gut health and nutrient imbalance
(including the headaches, the acne etc) It is all linked to inflammation in the gut.

to get mass - you have to fix the gut

saccharomyces boulardii I have take in past : this is strange but give me gas and headeache I don t know why I had read that were good for the intestinal but 90 and then percent of the pills does not get sll inteatino because destroyed by acid! only a few arrive but they are a brand used and created them now I do not remember which ones! but the times that I took them you had symptoms (thought about some excipient or other or at the time they could be similar to yeast)

I have mentioned to you previously - gas can be a symptom of healing.

also - you need acid to break down tablets and nutrients from food.
the fact that you have constipation and gas - may indicate that you are low in acid.

Saccharomyces boulardii helped me, it did give me gas but that is common thing, and not necessarily a bad thing

Gabes, Marcia, Carol, Tex, and Erica all are in remission. Listen to what they say.

1. Reread the entire thread. There is great information here.
2. I had gas for 18 months while I was healing. Early on everyone on the forum will have gas. As time went on I had less gas and
now i don't have gas unless I have gluten by mistake or sugar.
3. EAT A LOT MORE PROTEIN. I've been to Vicenza several times. One thing I noticed is average Americans eat A LOT
more protein than the average Italian. EAT MORE PROTEIN = FASTER HEALING= LESS GAS.
4. BREAKFAST--HAVE PROTEIN, EGGS OR CHICKEN OR TURKEY, OR RABBIT ETC. LUNCH EAT MORE PROTEIN,
DINNER EAT MORE PROTEIN.
5. Gabes is right....cholestyral is not your worry now.
6. Start a food diary. I ate only about 5 foods for 8 months.
7. My life is great now.
8. Some member that are in bad shape eat only protein for 3 days or so. THis really helps.
9. Breakfast protein the size of your palm of hand, lunch protein,--the size of your palm of hand, dinner protein the
size of your palm of your hand.
10. When you are better add back the veggies overcooked.

I thank you I would just like to understand that my questions and my insecurities and uncertainties and doubts, are based on the fact that from me the microscopic colitis is a "new" disease and thanks to the internet I read something, because here it is alone. Mc Lc = Budenoside and blood tests! I would also like to explain that for you to have breakfast with proteins it is natural becon eggs and beans like the Australian Brits have grown like that! for us it is milk and biscuits or bread or croissants! a bit like the Indonesia and Asian countries with fruit! and especially here with the Mediterranean diet and for all doctors the meat is not good as well as giving a high probability of 40% more colon cancer! centenarians eat vegetables, soups, etc. this to make people understand that meat is not like in Anglo-Saxon culture! you look for a sweet breakfast or at least with cereals!

GABES for the speech of the bulardii gas for me is all theoretical practical tested on me! I have no comparison with other people! to hear that it makes gas for you too is the first time! if I say to someone who makes me gas or takes me mad or I'm so sick that I'm with one foot in the pit! I do not understand when you say: who says that if they make Gas is a problem? until now I have been told that gas is an indicator that is not good! and then if I take saccaromiceti and I'm with people or lunch and I have a lot of gas is not normal besides having pains! attention I'm not contradicendo I'm trying to understand the right and wrong limits of gas! plus I had a headache! I also took Reuterii and I had problems!

BRENDY I did not understand the number on the 8th. my doctor said that I have far exceeded the limits for the statin tablet and the kidneys are overloaded! I do not eat meat as much as one palm of my hand I eat three palms every time lunch and dinner I eat a lot of meat!

my cholesterol is almost double I was advised to reduce protein and do activities but I'm skinny so I do not have muscle or fat and therefore little strength if I do a bit of effort over a certain limit (a limit I do not know because every day is different, after 15 minutes or 10 or 20 minutes, if I do therapy with flunarizine I can train 1 hour 30 minutes without problems without feeling tired :( ) I get a headache, I do not know if the headache is histamine neurotransmitters dopamine noradrenaline serotonin or circulatory problems or other or dehydration or something else that varies to my body but I get a headache, (this does not happen if I do therapy for headache :( )

Hi Ares- you do need protein to heal. Both almond flour and coconut flour have 6 grams of protein per serving. If you prefer scones or biscuits at breakfast then make some using any gluten free flour. Remember the Morning Glory Muffin recipe I posted on one of your earlier posts? I still highly recommend them to you. They contain carrots, apples and raisins, but you don’t like apples you can substitute zucchini. You can add dates instead of raisins. Those muffins make a great breakfast. There are lots of gluten- free, allergen free recipes online. You just have to try them. You only need one or two that you really like.

Nut butters (almond butter, sunflower butter, etc) have protein. Almond milk has protein. Bone broth has protein and collagen to help healing. You have to try them to see what works for you.

The bottom line is that you now have a chronic illness. Your life has changed and will continue to change. I am saying this with kindness- you cannot cling to what you used to eat and what you used to do. You may have to give up what is a normal way of eating in your society and culture.

Your body has changed now and you will have to start eating differently if you want to heal. But you are the one that has to take control, develop your plan, and find your own path to wellness.
