PHOENIX NEURO WANTS to see Kait

Post by barbaranoela »

Lynn called---all the info she had sent to the neuro in Phoenix, was looked over by him and he wants to see Kait--

First a consultation----he is a bit concerned about her ICP readings going up and down---
Then--if all goes right---she will be admitted that day---Lynn can stay @ Ronald McDonald Housing for parents---

As it goes-----he will immediately insert an ICP to check her pressure--
As it goes----he will REMOVE the entire shunts that have been in her--
As it goes----they might be there for @ least a month which will involve ,possibly 3 surgeries--
Kris will be home----and when we get back---I gather we will have her on the weekend cus school is still in session till June--and if they remain longer then ??????

Have no idea when he wants them----tomorrow she should have a date--

And as was told to Lynn---when all else fails---this be the place where everyone ends up!!

Its like Lou's by-pass----Hackensack Medical Center is THE place for Heart surgeries and etc.

So maybe, all the time wasted here, can be corrected and she can get on with a real life---

Or course, we know nothing if her job will be held open for her---no idea of who will be paying for the house bills---
This might sound *how could U think of that* but it is a must to think of---cus if all is gone when she returns then there will bw a big situation to be resolved--

Thats it for now---will have more tomorrow---I hope

Morning Barbara,

Thank God that this surgeon is going to see Kait. It will probably be a rough trip for her and I am very glad that Ronald McDonald house will be home to Lynn. I had friends of mine live there for over 2 months while their child was being taken care of in the hospital. It is the one good thing that came out of Mickey Ds. (My opinion only).

I can definitely understand your think of the bills on Lynn's end and I feel so very bad for Kris in all of this. She needs to have attention too for her own piece of mind.

May God bless them in their travels to Phoenix.

Love, Maggie

Barb, don't feel bad about wondering about all the other details besides Kait's latest development. They all play a BIG part in your life (stress, etc). Someone has to take care of all these details and you know you will have some of them to take care of yourself, even when you may not be up to it, so don't feel bad expressing your concerns, OK. We know you are happy and hopeful about Kait even if you are nervous about other things.

My prayers will certainly include you and I'm glad the surgeon wants to see her. It's obvious that someone new is her best chance at this point.

If anyone ever says the word Harter concerning me I'm going to run screaming from the building.

Thrilling news, Sis!

If I remember correctly, several years ago when I was checking out who was the best child shunt neuro, I found out he was in AZ. But at the time you told me that Lynn was committed to staying wih Harter and that there were insurance issues, etc. I wonder if this is the same person? I have forgotten the name now, but at the time he had recently moved there from the east coast.

This is certainly the BEST news I have heard in ages and I am cautiously optimistic for the first time in a long while. Frankly, I have never had a shred of confidence in Harter after he ripped out the shunt in the first place without dong a simple test to see if it was still functioning. He just made an uninformed decision that it wasn't working. I'll never get over that.

Try not to worry about all of the details. If this surgery works, then life will be back to normal again, finally. At least we can hope and pray for that day.

Lots of love,

Polly

Barb, I don't think it's terrible to think of Lynn's job during this. People have to live and pay bills. I hope this doctor can help Kait better than Hartar. God bless thier treck and travels to Phx. Good Vibes and Prayers headed that way. love Oma
