Hello everyone - I just wanted to share this. By being careful with diet (GF, limited dairy), I can usually remain symptom free. However, last week on vacation I started having a flare up, I believe due to the altitude and eating out more. I have been taking a CBD oil isolate for 6 months, which helped with sleep but didn't really notice anything affect my gut. I was on day 5 of Pepto and Lomotil but still having loose stools. On Sunday I tried a new full-spectrum CBD oil from BLuebird Botanicals (the Complete version). Full-spectrum means it has trace amounts of THC but is completely legal. I could feel my gut calm down right away, and every day since then have had only one BM in the morning and it has been pretty normal. I have only taken two peptos for the last few days, and even ate a big salad yesterday (which I normally could not even touch if I was having flare symptoms). I have done a LOT of research on this and am amazed at how CBD and medical marijuana seem to be helping people with IBD. Unfortunately I live in a state where only Crohns is covered medicinally, but the CBD oil is legal to order.
There is a great Facebook group called CBD Oil Users Group and it is so amazing the testimonials of the thousands of people who post about how CBD helps them for a variety of conditions.
I know a lot of people are leery about it but I wanted to share my experience at least.
CBD oil stopped a flare in 18 hours

Good for you Meggie for doing your homework,
After I did my 23andMe DNA testing, my genes advise not to use any CBD/Marijuana product as I am not able to tolerate it as well as others may be able to. I am a slow metabolizer which means it stays in my system a lot longer than the average person and is harder for my liver to remove for me. I am this way with many medications including caffeine (I can tell when I've had my fill of caffeine and the effect does last longer than I wish for at times).
For those that are not slow metabolizers this may be something to consider, I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with it.
